The Athletics announced a huge batch of roster moves today. They selected the contracts of catcher Willie MacIver and infielder Logan Davidson. They also recalled left-hander Jacob Lopez, infielder CJ Alexander and outfielder Denzel Clarke. Infielder Gio Urshela was placed on the 10-day injured list with a strained left hamstring, opening one spot. They opened three more by optioning right-hander Carlos Durán, catcher Jhonny Pereda and outfielder JJ Bleday to Triple-A Las Vegas. They opened a fifth active roster spot by designating infielder/outfielder Seth Brown for assignment. That also opened one 40-man spot for MacIver/Davidson. A second was opened by transferring infielder Zack Gelof to the 60-day IL.

I count 2 to go.

- MJ: AAA
- Hunter: DFA
- Biggio: better be soon

Who’s your 4th?

(note, not taking bullpen into account)

Canha? (I think he’s ok as a backup for now, but we can do better.)

Waters? (I kinda like Drew. He’s not super refined, but he’s played hard in the field, is hitting ok and improving.)

Saw the Bananas tonight, and had fan duel running on my phone. Couple people looked at me weird a few times when the stadium wasn’t making a play, but the Royals were.

Massey. Option him to Omaha and bring up Devanney.

Crazy we've been able to lead the west with this. If we can get most of this healthy, look out.

I know an agent. One of his clients is a dodgers pitcher.   Said the dodgers training regimen could be the reason.

Interesting. Our other issues had more of my attention, but that’s not a bad idea. I wonder if that’s why Massey’s been in left a few times with India at 2nd in the last week or two.

Looks like Jac is excelling in Omaha, after the bump up from NW Arky. Not sure how much longer he’ll need, but he seems to be getting close.

WTF?

This actually might be the dumbest thing I've ever seenHow in the hell is this obstruction on Max Muncy?

#1126

That’s ridiculous.

Did something else happen before the clip they replayed a few times? There wasn’t nothing in that.

Saw the opposite of that earlier this week. Guy headed into second, defender drops a knee in the path to field the ball. Not happening this year with the rule change.

Ump didn't call it, manager asked him about it and remind him of the rule change. He got ejected.

mid it’s not illegal to block the runner’s view of the catch then that’s a garbage call.

if it is illegal to block the runner’s view of the catch, then that’s a garbage rule.

80-grade TOOTBLAN here:

Oh my god. Just brutal for the Braves. Tying run was on 2nd base in the 9th inning. Base hit to CF and Eli White thought it got caught. So instead of scoring the tying run he gets throw out running back to 2nd base. They lost the game the next AB

This angle of the Eli White base running goof makes it 20x funnier. Check out the 3B coach, Matt Tuiasosopo.

2 hits yesterday still left him in the bottom 5 WRC+ of all AL hitters.

And worth jack fuck today, too.

I read this morning that Jac may be up by the end of June. Hope he's ready and makes the final jump like he has been so far.

sucks, he was on fire ...

Alex Cora says Alex Bregman has a “significant injury” similar to the one he suffered in 2021 when he missed just over two months. There is no timetable for his return right now.

After the game, Amador told The Denver Post he did not intentionally throw his glove at the ball.

“I didn’t have the glove tight on my hand,” Amador said via a translator. “The glove kind of keeps falling. It always falls. I didn’t have it tight and I jumped up. When I jumped up, the glove slipped off.”

“Life is like baseball. You can have a really good game and then follow it up with a really bad one,” Amador said. “It’s a normal feeling, but not a great one. It is what happens sometimes in the sport.”

Tarik Skubal's 94th and final pitch was a 102.6 mph fastball for his 13th strikeout, the most K's ever by a pitcher in a Maddux (a shutout in less than 100 pitches)

Tarik Skubal just threw as good of a game as you're ever going to see. His start against Cleveland:9 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 13 K94 pitches, 72 strikesFinal pitch: 102.6 mph, the hardest of his career26 swings and missesFirst CG of his career

Damn ESPN hit a new all time low. Not only talking to player during the game (Lindor)...but has his wife mic'd up too and speaking to both at same time.
