And no one outside of Astros Sugar Land Space Cowboys fans would recognize the pitchers he did it off of.

HR Kurtz 4 (23, 2nd inning off Gusto, 1 on, 2 out, 6th inning off Hernandez, N, 0 on, 1 out, 8th inning off Ort, 0 on, 1 out, 9th inning off Hummel, 2 on, 2 out);

But kudos to him. He can’t control who the opponent puts out there

Ok I guess.

Raising your average 45 points in one game (even if over only a ~45 AB stretch) is pretty good.

I was led to believe that it was Gusto Day?

Nick Kurtz hit more homers tonight than Chisholm hit in the homerun derby

amidst this overwhelming waterfall of Nick Kurtz fun facts I'm somehow especially stunned by this very simple one:scoring 6 runs in a game is apparently even more rare than hitting 4 homers in a gamevia @Stathead, this is only the 9th time in MLB history it's happened

A’s call. Big Amish is the new Big Dumper.

Nick Kurtz just had one of the greatest games in baseball history. 6 for 6 with four home runs, six runs and eight RBIs. He is a 22-year-old rookie.

So @Sbbruin, what % of concession stands would you guess were closed?

What I heard was they paid scabs $50/hr to serve.  It was a mess, but all stations were open.

So you are saying we will not starve? Just have to deal with the kind nature of Bostonians? Yeah, we are good.

That’s fucking wild as hell. Quick on the draw, and a nice cover to boot.

A’s rookie Nick Kurtz greets his parents and godparents after the game of his life. It was the first time his godparents had seen him play a big league game. His parents flew in today to attend.

I have flown to Minneapolis and SF for Giants games this season and I have seen them score 2 runs. Good times!  Ready for football season.

This team sucks. Vibes were terrible in the park tonight. Everyone knows this wild card "chase" is a farce.

NEW YORK -- Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge is dealing with a right elbow "issue," according to manager Aaron Boone, and isn't in the team's lineup Saturday against the Philadelphia Phillies for just the second time this season.

Judge underwent testing on the elbow Saturday morning after experiencing discomfort throwing the baseball in Friday's night loss for the second time this week. Boone said Judge was slated to see head team physician Christopher Ahmad, a leading Tommy John surgeon, at Yankee Stadium on Saturday.

When asked Saturday if Judge could be dealing with an ulnar collateral ligament injury, which could require Tommy John surgery, Boone said he didn't know.

Oof... you don't see this too often with outfielders. And Judge is one of the very few yankees over the years I couldn't immediately bring myself to dislike. Hope he sticks around in the HR race with Raleigh and Ohtani.

#2628

Wow. Crazy for an outfielder to have that. They crank it in, sure, but not like they do it 100 times a game, or even 100 times in 5.

Hate to see it, whatever it is, but he’ll be fine in the longer term.

Jasssson tore his UCL his rookie year and needed Tommy John. I have no idea what our strength & conditioning is for outfielders but it needs a change. Badly. Judge lucked out in that it’s a strain and not a tear, but he’s likely out for the season regardless.

Q: How many pitches does it take to get 3 outs?

A: 43

That’s right. Forty-fucking-three. 🤬

Two Colorado P threw 56 pitches while giving up 9 runs in the 7th inning of tonight’s game in Baltimore.

So that’s why BV’s been so quiet this evening.

I feel his pain. Although the 43 pitch first inning only cost 3. Granted walking your first 4 batters isn’t a good look.

There are a LOT of Dodger fans in Boston right now.

Still better than Jenny Cavner.

Headed back to Fort Worth. Another one run scoring explosion last night. But even worse, for some fucking reason they let Mr Met into the park? What are we even doing.

Baltimore might be a better LL team than Colorado …

Gunnar Henderson scored on a wild pitch … from 2B.  Rockies P never budged while Henderson never broke stride.

Williamsport is waiting …
