So Juan how’s that move over to Flushing working out for you? Enjoying playing for one of the worst run franchises in pro sports in America?

I call bullshit on that, no way is that real.

Yeah I can't see that passing league muster.

In other news, sure, why not. We'll find a spot for him.

The Mets spend a fuck ton of money. They are nowhere near the bottom of that list. You are talking about a league with the Marlins, Pirates and As in it.

Not sure why people think what the Dodgers are doing is bad. I'd be more pissed if they were just pocketing the money

polar bear to the orioles, gross.

Chris Davis, Part 2 upcoming.

Alonso, sounds Spanish.  Did he count towards the Mets' Hispanic percentage or not?

His grandfather was an immigrant from Spain.

The New York Mets and infielder Jorge Polanco are in agreement on a two-year, $40 million contract, sources told ESPN on Saturday, as the club pivots away from a transformational week following the losses of Edwin Diaz and Pete Alonso in free agency.

Polanco's deal, which is pending a physical, does not include an opt-out or deferred money, according to a source. The 12-year veteran sought a three-year deal in free agency but couldn't find one, settling for a two-year pact with a high annual average value.

Polanco, 32, is expected to primarily play first base, replacing Alonso, and also serve as designated hitter, though he gives New York infield insurance around the diamond. Polanco was a shortstop to begin his major league career with the Minnesota Twins before transitioning to mainly second base and designated hitter with the Seattle Mariners over the past two seasons. Polanco has yet to log an inning at first base at the major league level.

Bet the fanbase loves that move.

a lot of shitty transactions happened today

Turd Ferguson to Reds being one of them.

Yeah?  Well we already beat you to it with Astros Christian Walker

Man the A's have a really good core group of young players it's a shame they have to play in a minor league market/stadium and won't buy a few pitchers to compete and all those guys will be on different teams long before the franchise situation improves

The Athletics have acquired utilityman Jeff McNeil from the Mets in a trade that continues New York's offseason roster overhaul and adds a veteran presence to the Athletics' deep lineup.

The Mets, who will receive minor-league right-hander Yordan Rodríguez in the trade, are also sending $5.75 million to the Athletics to help cover McNeil's $15.75 million salary for the 2026 season. New York also agreed to pay McNeil's $2 million buyout if the A's don't exercise his $15.75 million club option for 2027.

Another Cali team trading away a low minor leaguer named Yordan?  They never learn.

The Pittsburgh Pirates took another step toward being a contender in 2026, agreeing to terms with All-Star first baseman/outfielder Ryan O'Hearn on a two-year, $29 million deal, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan on Tuesday.

It is the first multiple-year free agent deal that the Pirates have put together since 2016 as they look to give a boost to one of the worst offenses in the majors.
