If AAA counts, then yeah. 2 minutes ago, Underdog said: Videos like this is right up there with the kids getting on scholarship. Definitely a great moment for a young player. And he thought he was fixin to get a lecture about smacking the bat knob on the dugout stairs. 😂
June 2Jun 2 Maybe this should go in the News Stories That Remind You of Surly thread? Quote An intoxicated bettor located overseas was behind social media threats directed last month at Houston Astros pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. and his family, according to the Houston Police Department. A spokesperson for the department on Monday declined to identify the suspect or his location and said no charges had been filed. The spokesperson told ESPN that the man admitted that he had been gambling on an Astros game, lost money and was frustrated and inebriated when he sent the threats to McCullers. The man apologized and asked that his apology be relayed to McCullers and his family, according to the spokesperson. The case remains open while charges are considered. McCullers said threats to "find my kids and murder them" were sent after his start against the Cincinnati Reds on May 10.

No idea where the guy is from, but all I can think is HPD asking “what in the world would possess a man from across the pond to threaten the lives of the family of a pitcher in a sport they don’t even play where you’re from?”

June 4Jun 4 guarantee you that yankee stadium is top 2-3 in the league in “HR that are only HR in one ballpark.” that right field short porch is a joke.

What Derka said. It's not that the entire park is a bandbox. The issue is the moronic RF construction. 314 down the line and just an 8 ft high wall. Crawford boxes (which many complain about) are 315 and 19ft, respectively. Crawford boxes are CF at the Polo Grounds compared to Yankee Stadium RF.

It is number one with a huge lead. From the 2016 season through May of 2024 when this article was written, Yankee Stadium had 143 "stadium specials" - HRs that are only HRs in 1 of 30 ballparks. Wrigley was second with 98, and Daikin is third with 75. Around 28% of stadium specials in all of MLB since 2016 have been hit to right field in Yankee Stadium. Own it, @Helobious

June 4Jun 4 Author Movin' & shakin' in SF. Quote The Giants are shaking up their struggling offense. The team announced Wednesday that first baseman LaMonte Wade Jr. and backup catcher Sam Huff have been designated for assignment. Veteran first baseman Dominic Smith, who recently opted out of a minor league deal with the Yankees, has been signed to a one-year, major league contract. San Francisco also selected the contracts of outfielder Daniel Johnson and catcher Andrew Knizner from Triple-A and optioned infielder Christian Koss.
