Passan was on McAfee today talking about how virtually every player you talk to thinks Judge is better. But I guess they don’t know the game at all

but im imploring you: fucking learn about baseball, or stop posting here.

I swear I’m gonna try and find a “Baseball for dummies” type book on strategy/management for my wife for Christmas. She doesn’t get it. Any of it.

”They should pull that fucker now” is a common phrase heard around here from time to time. No clue about how a bullpen works, or none of it.

oh yeah, aaron judge has played 89 games in the field this year and 55 at dh. only helobious could fail to understand the enormity of what raleigh has done as a switch hitting catcher vs what judge has done as a part time position player.

Judge got intentionally walked for the 35th time this year tonight, the most in AL history

Cleveland has a -4 run differential and expected W/L of 79-80, 7 games worse than their actual W/L record.

Will the clock strike midnight before Sunday at 5pm?

i never knew lasorda ...

Al Pacino lights Tommy Lasorda's cigar with Steve Yeager, Tom Paciorek and Bill Buckner. On the right is Tommy in a scene from Godfather 2 where he played a US military official. Though scene depicts Havana, Cuba it was shot in Santo Domingo, DR where Tommy was coaching . Did you know Tommy LaSorda was in Godfather 2?

Plus Cal is doing it without juiced balls, so his 60 homer season is legit.

Tommy built the farm system there. Got to sit with with him at a few Licey games.

He owned that city Had his own table at the Lucky 7. He brought up Guerreo, the Martinez Brother's, etc. @Sbbruin knows the dates. Early 1980's.

This crazy to me and frustrating, they've made the playoff 4 times in franchise history and won 2 WS

trivia- who leads the league in defensive runs saved at the ss position?

It was Nick Allen last time you asked, so I assume he's been passed.

correct, he has been passed.

soto with two sb tonight and it’s only the third inning. he’s two away from going 40/40.

White Sox and Nationals turning Nationals Park into a driving range. Eight homers between them.

Red Sox and Tigers going into the bottom of the 9th tied after Boston got 1 in the 8th to tie. Chapman just got out of a runner on third with 1 out. Some nasty fastballs at 102, dude still has it at age 37.

His catcher must have asked him to throw his fastball to a particular spot!

Chapman has his shit. He is good. Navarez and Wong are good catchers.

AL

1 Toronto with 1 win or 1 Yankees loss, otherwise Yankees

4 Yankees unless 2-0 and Toronto 1-1 or 0-2, then Toronto

5 Boston with 1 more win

6 CLE or DET unless one goes 0-2 and Astros 2-0 then Astros

NL

1 Milwaukee or Philly

2 Philly or Milwaukee

3 LA

4 cubs or padres

5 padres or cubs

6 reds, Mets or D-Backs

he might not be top 20 in jerseys sold, but he’s been one of the best players in baseball for awhile now, and he’s got a future spot in cooperstown waiting for him.

in an era where nobody bats .300 i think this is pretty cool.

Well, there’s one guy batting over .330 right now I can think of

javy is still el mago. just robbed david hamilton of an rbi hit.

4 Yankees (with loss) or Blue Jays (with loss and Yankees win)

5 Boston, Cleveland or Detroit

6 Boston, Cleveland or Detroit

NL

1 Milwaukee

2 Philly

3 LA

4 Cubs

5 Padres

6 Reds (with win or Mets loss) or Mets (with win and Reds loss)

God bless Mark Kotsay

160 games and 2 hours and 32 minutes was enough

tossed in the top of the 9th down 4-2

…and because Sacramento, takes the long walk —down the LF line —to the clubhouse

I was surprised Harris didn’t get the boot as well.

Down 4-0 the Mets went to Edwin Diaz in the 5th.

NCAA regional type stuff

Reds lost, opening the door.

Marlins leave the bases loaded in the bottom of the 8th.  Mets coming to bat in the 9th, still down 4-0.

Wow, Lindor gidp to end it

Helo vindicated!

This first round is so tasty that if this were the NBA, I'd be sure they rigged some games to get these matchups.
