March 17Mar 17 Original 'Looney Tunes' No Longer Available On Max Quote That’s all folks. The original Looney Tunes animated shorts, which ran during the golden age of animation from 1930 through 1969, have been scrubbed by Warner Bros. Discovery-owned Max. Deadline confirmed with a representative that the original shorts are no longer on Max. This is part of a new plan whereby the streamer will prioritize adult and family programming. Children’s programming, such as Looney Tunes and Sesame Street before it, doesn’t fare as well and is no longer viewed as a priority. I've watched so many of these with my kids. What will we do now?
March 17Mar 17 if you google some of the old shit you can find it. I randomly was thinking about little hiawatha recently and it's out there. old cartoons were awesome. https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2pgrdv Edited March 17Mar 17 by futureman
March 17Mar 17 I bought a big set of them on Blu-ray or DVD a while back when my kids were young. This is also why I keep a Blu-ray player, because of streaming shenanigans like this.

I'm just happy Disney+ put a bunch of the old Mickey shorts on there a while back. For some reason, my little ones love Steamboat Willie and a bunch of the old 'uns.

Disc rot is real, and a minor manufacturing defect can lead unreadable media after a decade or two
March 22Mar 22 Ironically, the old WB cartoons were not created as children's entertainment. They were created as filler to be shown between features at the local theaters, along with short features and newsreels. Sure, the animation and slapstick parts do appeal to kids, but much of the humor was aimed at adults and would have gone over the heads of the average kid.

August 16Aug 16 Tubi has a lot of good content and its commercials aren't much more intrusive than what you get on the paid channels these days. Spoiler Tubi (stylized as tubi) is an American over-the-top ad-supported streaming television[2] service owned by Fox Corporation since 2020.
