This started last night, but obviously we were too busy losing our collective minds during the rollercoaster that is an RT coached game

Iowa State in the 11-seed play-in came back from a 40-25 halftime deficit to defeat Princeton, 68-63.  Weird game - Princeton had a 27-7 second quarter to go into the break with a 15 point lead, and then Iowa State had a 27-9 third quarter to pull away.

Southern beat UCSD 68-56 in the first 16-seed play-in

Iowa State advances to play Michigan tomorrow morning
Southern advances to play UCLA tomorrow night

Tonight:

Columbia-Washington in the second 11-seed play-in
High Point-William & Mary in the second 16-seed play-in (winner plays Texas)

High point v W&M is tonight at 8pm in the Moody Center. They may need to pipe in fan noise or offer free booze for UT students. Gonna sound dead otherwise

HP - 67.2 PPG, 30% from three, tallest player is 6'2 (lol)

https://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/team/stats/_/id/2729/william-mary-tribe

W&M - 61.8 ppg, 28% f rom three, have a little more height (6'4, 6'3, 6'2)

W&M might legitimately score fewer than 45 points, but HP would be a field day for Jones and KO

Columbia (Ivy league, holla) and William & Mary move on to face West Virginia and Texas, respectively

Day 1 of the real tournament begins today!

All times ET

Friday, March 21 (First Round/Round of 64)

Don't see a lot of potential R1 upsets - maybe Michigan/Iowa State, Utah/Indiana (as much as an 8/9 game is an upset), Vandy/Oregon (7/10 is also barely an upset) and Richmond/GT

Though Duke basketball seeing Lehigh is probably bringing the PTSD

Also keep an eye on Tenn and USF - if the outside shots aren't falling for Tennessee...

Some lackluster showings early -

TCU only up 35-27 on Fair Dick
Baylor up 29-25 on Grand Canyon and surly's new fave coach

Second quarter, boss.

NCST is up 2 at half.

That's not exactly a strong showing for a 2 in the women's tourney where, you know, a 15 seed has never won a game.

Damn I have Duke losing to UNC. Was hoping they'd go down today.
