March 29Mar 29 Guards make college basketball go. If you don’t have one you go home early. TJ Ford DJ Augustine Cory Joseph Avery Bradley Daniel Gibson Marcus Carr Isaiah Taylor Hope Miller focuses on big time PGs 1st and combo guards 2nd as the priority over wings and bigs. It is hard for big men to dominate the college game when they are so reliant on post entry from the guards. Edited March 29Mar 29 by ChickenSandwich

March 29Mar 29 isaiah taylor was the man. god i loved that guy. if he’d have played for beard or barnes he’d have been an all american. yes, an all american. not 1st or even 2nd team, but he had BIG XII POY talent and potential. such a waste of talent and heart playing for that dumbass shaka. IT was the absolute perfect PG to run havoc, but nope. we had to do some brand new shit. and then on top of that you have the likes of demarcus holland and prince ibeh on the team as well and you *still* don’t run havoc?!? jesus christ shaka. every time i remember this shit i get all angry all over again. fucking loser. March 29Mar 29 top 3 FTA for Texas the past five seasons: 2025: johnson- 4.2 shedrick- 4.0 kaluma- 3.5 2024: disu- 3.4 abmas- 2.9 shedrick- 2.7 2023: allen- 3.7 carr- 3.6 rice- 3.4 2022: allen- 4.3 carr- 3.2 bishop- 2.4 2021: sims- 3.8 jones- 3.2 ramey- 3.0 isiah taylor at texas: 2014- 5.8 2015- 4.2 (broke his wrist, off year) 2016- 5.9 that was by far the most underrated part of his game. that guy willed us to victories with his heart and his pointed desire to get to the rim and in doing so, get to the line as well. ended up shooting 82% his final two years. we haven’t had anybody even close to him in that regard since then. definition of “dog”.
March 30Mar 30 So, Miller pretty much just hired his a bunch of his family as assistance, and his existing Xavier assistant coaches? Would have hoped to see him bring in a hardcore #2 defensive coach. Cream of the crop kinda guy. $$

Cream of the crop kinda guy. $$ shaka brought all of his assistants when he came to Texas. they led us to an 11-22 season with a tourney level roster. conversely, chris beard went and got bag men from larry brown and bill self when he got the Texas job (not to mention that he took donewald and mark adams with him to ole miss). im with you. i am not gruntled by these “hires”. there’s a reason that so many of the biggest pricks you’ve ever met win titles- they’re cutthroat. let’s hope that miller knows what he’s doing. March 30Mar 30 Worth noting that David Miller is a son of a former NBA assistant coach and is not related to Sean.
March 30Mar 30 Also, one of Xavier's assistants (Dante Jackson) is staying there under Pitino, and Gerry said he is watching for Brandon Chappell (hired by Beard) to be retained.

Taylor played under Barnes for two years and under Shaka for one. And the only assistant Shaka brought from VCU was Murrell. Cason and especially Darren Horn were well regarded. I'm not attacking you just correcting the record. You allow your hate for Shaka to color your memory with some Foxnews level accuracy.

He's basically just putting $1 million into their NIL and being the face of OU Basketball. Make some appearances, talk to recruits and portal players, etc. Same with Curry at Davidson.

April 1Apr 1 I have met and been around Chris a few times back in his playing days and he is a great guy. And yes he was a great player from Seminole but kind of got lost on the depth chart. However he had some great moments and his no look pass was Bird-esque. Edited April 1Apr 1 by Steamboat1874

April 1Apr 1 Seeing that Swain has committed to Texas. It’s on Givony’s twitter EDIT: Now being reported by Joe Cook

April 2Apr 2 Losing a bidding war iin this particular situation is not the worst thing because Miller is the best coach to assess Conwell's true value.

We don’t really moneywhip for coaches. We do it after they’re successful here. Aggy money whipped jimbo and it compromised their baseball and football hires
