March 27Mar 27 Tragic, but the headline is misleading since only one of the victims was currently working for HCSO at the time of their death. That said, one life lost to suicide is one too many and I wish we placed a greater emphasis on mental health and funded the resources to address mental illness.

March 27Mar 27 I'd be interested to know how much training is involved/required/provided for Harris County Sherrif's deputies.

I would bet that Harris County does offer mental health resources to their employees. It's difficult to force people to seek treatment especially if they're hiding it. You also have many people that ignore or refuse to see a doctor for physical issues as well.

Facts. It's bad out there. Pretty much anywhere in the South this is true and it ain't a whole lot better in the rest of the country.
