Fortunately, I had to leave in the 7th for a bowling  date.

Furk...

Fortunately Texas softball and the NBA Finals were on. Unfortunately my instagram feed let me know what happened.

Does Bochy survive the season at this point?

Uncertain. Lots of blame to go round. If we didn’t have to play a middle infielder at first.., that would help greatly.

I like Boch a lot but he sure seems to be showing his age lately.

There's no chance they fire Bochy, he's done at the end of the year anyway and will be hanging with his grandkids.

Maybe he's checked out. Who knows.

Watching that clusterfuck yesterday in real time was torture. Just knowing it's going to happen. It rivaled the clown show game in San Fran with the Ramos "home run."

It is getting difficult to pick the "worst loss" these days.

Correct on the mistake of not moving Burger to 1st in the 9th. He's vastly better there than Smith, who is being asked to play everything but catcher and ballboy these days.

But then there's Jung's brain freeze, the pitcher's brain freeze and not covering 1st immediately (again), Semien's brain freeze in not throwing home after that.

It was something to see.

What if you think you can save the season? It's not like anyone in our division is crushing it.

I don't feel strongly either way, just wondering.

Easy answer is hitting if they want to compete this year. But it feels like the bats are the bats at this point.

If they do hit, it's 5 hits, 3 solo homers and we lose 4-3 because no one outside of Smith maybe is a "get on base" type of player. They'll have a breakout game once every three weeks, then nothing.

Corey getting a hit again would be nice. If he gets going along with Semien and Burger maybe that gets everyone believing. But now Wyatt is off and Jung isn't great and Smith is struggling some, etc.

All year they've been bad with RISP. Arms are getting stretched further and further. Martin is out, probably for good this time (again). Garcia has showed more cracks in the armor lately. The bats have to wake up by eating Wheaties, gettin' 'roids or voodoo or whatever.

It's not putting together strings of hits, or sometimes even 1 or 2 hits total, being anti-clutch, etc.

They're not "out" of it but they feel out of it, like last year. I think they should sell, and should have last year also.

Either way, thank Bochy for squeaking in in 2023, doing incredible bullpen management and getting that flag.

Re-boot for 2026.

Going to the game a week from Tuesday against KC.  They seem to be a mirror image of us (great pitching, poor hitting), except they have a winning record.  Fully expecting a 2-1 type game that could go either way.  Ill probably enjoy the bobblehead and all-you-can-eat seats more.

Per Grant. I didn't even think it was this bad. Seems impossible in fact.

The Rangers have not overcome a deficit of more than one run to win a game this year.

at least we proved the hitting had absolutely zero to do with who the hitting coach was.  nice to get that out of the way so we can discuss the real problem.

It seems unlikely they would can him at this point, being who he is. It wouldn't help. Their only chance is that somehow it clicks to a degree that they could not suck as much. Then they start over fresh after a lot of turnover next season.

Now Marcus is the only one that can hit. What a season.

Jake Skole, Jason Botts, Justin Smoak, Brad Wilkerson, Chad Allen. We trotted out some truly shit rotten meatheads in the late 00’s. At least Smoak got us Clif Lee.
