If that’s all it is thank goodness. You’d think they’d be able to figure out if it’s an Achilles or a torn calf, but you’d also think they’d could ID a broken hand or broken ribs or a broken shin, so who knows.

Well if you want to feel good about something, here's a graph of all MLB teams WAR from players they drafted since 2012. Astros are doing pretty, pretty, prett-ay good!

72% of that number comes from Correa, Bregman, and Tucker, but that number also doesn't include Altuve, Springer, Framber, and Alvarez.

They'll have more info once the medical staff gets done bleeding Jake.

leeches, get it straight !

The Astros optioned Shay Whitcomb to Triple-A and reinstated Christian Walker from the paternity list. Walker could only spend a maximum of three days on the paternity list, hence doing this on an off day.

This guy has had stuff before the media before on the Meyers deal. He’s not lying about having heard it. His info source could have gotten it wrong but I doubt it.

Espada’s quoted in Chandler’s article that they didn’t do any imaging of Jake’s calf upon the initial injury. The medical staff didn’t think it was necessary. These guys have to be the dumbest mother fuckers on the planet. After everything that’s happened including the failure to identify fractures in Yordan and Tucker, they still didn’t think Jake needed any imaging. Stop being cheap and get every test/xray/image taken. They will never learn.

The Astros are calling up top prospect Brice Matthews and he will join the team for tomorrow's game against the Rangers, source tells @TheAthletic. First: @brianmctaggart

Source: The Astros are calling up No. 1 prospect Brice Matthews to join the team Friday, MLB. com has learned. Matthews is slashing .283/.400/.476 with 10 homers, 39 RBIs and 25 steals at Triple-A, while playing mostly 2B. Matthews was set to play in Futures Game.

Hear me out...put the entire clubhouse inside one giant MRI tube.  A scan every day to build up a library and to monitor changes throughout the year.  The new competitive advantage imo.

Not as if they would net to get if first approved by the player's health insurance.

How hard is it to ask the damn hospital system that is partnered with you to open up a time slot for a player to get imagining done?

It's not, there is a process in place for other pro teams in town. This health care provider should have something similar, ordering comes from the discretion of a team physician with input from their AT staff. If a player had a wet fart, they should order test out, point being always err on the side if caution.

Curios if Jake was even seen by a doctor for the original calf injury.

With Alvarez, he has supposedly been seen by multiple specialists.

The Astros have played 93 games and have had 88 different lineups. They still haven't used a single lineup more than twice.

#8350

I mean most teams haven't had more than same lineup 5 times....with a lot no more than 2.

The Cubs(9) and Phillies(8) are the two who have been most consistent in lineup construction and they still have been less than 10% of their games played
