trammell needs to start every day

Trammell has a 40% strikeout rate and is our best hitting outfielder not named Altuve, if you consider him an outfielder.

I'm trying to think of something good to say about this team. I really am. But it's tough to do.

Trot this exact lineup & SP combo out 162 games a year and I think we'd finish 45-117 or thereabouts.

You really think our staff would throw 45 shutouts? Probably what it would take.

For those keeping track, we had a late season sweep by the A’s in both World Series  winning years.

Burt Hooton with a shout out also. Happy for Billy the kid. Dude had numbers better than a certain closer in NY.

Trade deadline doesn't mean anything if you have no real assest to trade. Add in 18 guys on IL. Those that are injured have no idea of when they'll be back

I think I saw that Melton is likely to be activated tomorrow. Maybe our long Hummel nightmare finally ends?

Our luck this season, he'll slip and fall, tear an MCL walking down the steps of the bus dropping him off at Daikin.

Driving around today and listening to national media spew tears for the Yankees about the loss of Judge and how difficult this will be for them while he is out.

Really?  How about rolling out a lineup with maybe 4 major leaguers and a staff with 2 guys who belong starting in the league and yet somehow have 60 wins.

Fuck the national media, but more importantly fuck whomever is responsible for slowing playing some of these guys back. Time to get Spencer and Javier back because they damn sure can't be worse .

Yep. You can't trade your way out of a situation where the majority of your rotation starts are going to minor-league JAGs and 1/3 of your lineup is negative WAR Replacements in the 3rd Degree (i. e. guys playing in place of the first and second waves of injured replacements who were brought in to replace injured starters). You especially can't do it with a barren farm system and an already-maxed-out payroll. The fuck we gonna trade? Hummel and Chas for a bag of dicks?

Just saw on the MLB site that we rank 7th among suitors for Suarez. Not that we don't need him right now, but the suggestion is that because we've won a couple rings in the past 8 years, we aren't as desperate as some other contenders. Didn't realize we'd quit trying to compete, though since around the AS break it appears maybe we have.

(Edit: Note that I'm not suggesting we're even in the market for another 3B to plug in this season. We really don't have assets to spend anyway. But if the complacency hinted at in this piece is real, that's troubling on another front.)

Wagner had the best closer intro song in baseball (Enter Sandman). None better.

(Also, not sorry if already posted) 😎

Trevor Hoffman's wasn't bad and truthfully, I liked Pressly's.

Agree both good. I will stand by Wagners though.

I think the only problem with it is far too many will connect it to Rivera.

Funny, watched Rollie Fingers and Spark Lyle come in to the game and all you got was, now pitching for Oakland or now pitching for Texas.

Al Hrabosky is the first reliever I could remember with the theatrics.
