What did Habib say about the trade

He said float. The BLS couldn't possibly mess up the jobs numbers for the 29th time in the last 30 months. I don't know if I believe him.

Echoing @UTPhil2006, I don’t think either of those prospects were going to be much more than trade chips.  Their best attribute was draft position and potential.

This team has been shedding talent past the point of replacement ever since 2019.  They’ve got to add some back and the best advantage they CAN have is Crane’s willingness to spend money.

Spending money is great, spending smart money is better, spending money to bring a aging middle infielder with injury issues who you wouldn't have given this contract to three years ago doesn't mesh with the first two.

Especially when you are still on the hook for Abreu, Montero, and Lance.

I'd be thrilled to find out that's the last K McCormick has a chance to produce in a Houston uniform. He's no longer a major leaguer.

Clifford is 21 years old and has a .863 OPS in AA. His career OPS in the minors is .833, he doesn't suck.

Gilbert is 24 and has a .811 OPS in the minors this season. I'd rather give him playing time instead of fucking Cooper Hummel.

Gilbert just got traded again, always looked like a grade A douche to me.

Curious if the projections about Cam about 3rd base when he came out in the draft were accurate?

Alright so Mr Brown, we need to make probably at least two moves.. what would you do and whom would you trade

I think starting pitching is a must,  as far as 3rd base I really don't any of the three options mentioned above because of thinks unique to each.

What I don't know and would be interesting to learn is would it be easier to find a decent hitting outfielder and play Dubon more at third?

I have nothing against Cease.

Don't think you trade the only daily catcher in the system for him.

Hayes from Pittsburgh was available, but don't know his contract situation. so I can't say if that would have been worth a look.

So Brice and a couple prospects for Correa. And Caratini and Chas for Cease you wouldn't do?

Cristian Javier starting tonight in Sugar Land.

No on Carlos, yes on Crease.

I would try to keep Caratini out of the trade if possible without knowing if and when Alvarez is back.

Correa doesn't make a lick of sense.

If Crane was willing to spend $30M+ a year on a player then why not Alonso?

Heck, even if they had signed Pete instead of Walker with all the injuries there are just too many needs. There isn't a silver bullet player out there that solves the pitching, third base, and left handed hitting.

Ohtani would disagree with this statement. I am sure he can learn to play third. Pull the trigger Jim and Dana!

Dude, call it a season, get the surgery, and come back healthy to start next season. And lose some fucking weight.
