fuck it let's just miss the playoffs entirely

We lose tonight and it's gonna be extremely difficult seeing as how we're on the wrong end of tie breakers.

Three fucking hits in a minor league ballpark against a cellar dweller with nothing to play for, and you have everything to play for. Unbelievable

#17816

This team knows they have no chance in the playoffs.

I think they decided they'd rather get a full offseason of rest.

Losing Tucker and Bregman, 2 guys who lead you to multiple WS actually took a toll on this team

I cannot do this in 2026. Stop making excuses for a checked out owner and a GM who is not innovative or forward thinking. Espada? Seriously….. we all knew this wouldn’t work. Everyone just waned to keep wish-casting looking through tangerine colored lenses hoping for a miracle. Fuck this team and their Mickey Mouse bullshit. They had me fooled with the whole start of a Dynasty bullshit.Make changes, because there is a huge culture issue with the Astros organization right now.

Astros have become Heartless.
Houston deserves better.

Maybe it'll go like this:

-Miss postseason

-Keep Espada

-Keep Dana

-Ask Harris County to build a new baseball stadium similar to want the Texans are doing

What do you think Crane or Brown should have done differently?

Personally, the only thing I want from Crane is a willingness to run the budget up to the CBT apron and to make sure that the scouting and development personnel have every resource they ask for.  The first box is clearly checked and I'm not in a good position to evaluate the second, although I think it's clearly better run there than under McLane.  If those are both "yes's" then I prefer the owner to be checked out.

I want Crane to stop trying to play GM with Bagwell. Every signing he's been heavily involved in has blown up in his face.

A few teams that made late season pushes to the finish line had decent deadline moves. Would have liked more of an effort to get an arm and a bat. (Other than trash heap arachnid boy)

Parades YES, it was a great get in the off season Credit given!!!. Was he the production answer to losing Tuck and Bregman?  Not so sure.

Starting the season with Rodgers, Walker, and a sketchy  ass pitching staff???? You could seriously start over with just Hunter, flush all their asses. while injuries are part of the game you can’t be taken serious with those arms we had all year. I will wait to pass judgment on Garcia and Blanco, I like their attitudes and think they will benefit being away from Framber.

Was Can’tStandsYa a calculated move or did we just get lucky with his performance

Who exactly are we talking about here?  Hader and Verlander?  The Altuve extension?  The Astros wanted Abreu under Luhnow and I think if Click hadn't been fired, Abreu and Montero still get signed.

Sorry if you're being sincere (I'm sure you are), but this reads like ill-informed Clutchfans drivel.  "Why don't we have four All-Star starting pitchers? Brown is stupid!  Go trade for Ohtani!"

The story of this season could just be that a team with a poor farm at the AA and AAA got hammered by injuries and doesn't have the depth to replace them.

It could also be that the team's highest paid players under-performed or were hurt.  Valdez and Altuve are competing for the worst second half performance they have a lot of company.

This off season is going to be a good time to disrupt things, not just because the team is poised to miss the playoffs, but because next year looks worse barring some upgrades.

I’m sorry about all the ranting and bleeding vagina talk.
This team has ruined October. The Astros have taken so much from our household. Everything is black.
Honestly, what are we supposed to do now? Sit around like a bunch of jag-offs actually speaking to one another and interacting with each other like it’s 2020? You think I am listening to Joe Davis and John Smoltz carry on about who fucking knows what by choice?

Montero, Hader, Abreu, and Walker were all players that Crane demanded. All were horrible signings that shifted the finances to leave giant holes in the roster.

Yeah, I think you have to contextualize a) who was available and b) was the move supportable, regardless of who the decision maker was.

This isn’t like rolling out Chris Carter because you want to keep the payroll low.  Abreu and Walker were relatively affordable and patched a hole.  Also, 1B league wide has become a position with surprisingly little offense compared to the 90’s/early 2000’s.

Anyway, the 2025 Astros don’t have the stink of Baytown refineries because the owner fucked around with 10% of the payroll, it’s because the other 90% didn’t get it done.

Dezenzo looked pretty good before the injury.  Jesus Sanchez mixed bag, but for sure hate the smile when he sucks, pisses me off.
