what has Brice done since?

K’d 28.8% of the time, right in line with his overall minor league average of 29.3%.

so yeah, get ready for more Whitcomb.

29% is pretty good considering he was at 35%!

I didn’t know this:

Did you know that the Astros use the Rockets’ team plane? Seen here parked in Denver.

Hey, Hoes!

It's July 1.

Here are your MLB overall standings.

1. Dodgers/Tigers

3. Astros

See you hoes in April.

I mean- you can come by in October to point and laugh at everyone gripping and melting down.  My general sense of equanimity disappears when the Calendar flips to October.

Yes- it would be sort of dumb not to do that as opposed to flying him out there for a game across the country to LA, and then half way back to Houston.  Why mess with it?

I think my point is clear. Now I can just enjoy the ride.

Mindgames.

get an Astros fan a front row seat behind the Astros dugout right above where Yordan is sitting and a poster with this printed on it.

Yordan Alvarez suffered a setback in West Palm Beach, Dana Brown said. He reported hand soreness after taking some swings on Monday and has been shut down. Alvarez will see a specialist in the next 48 hours, after which the Astros hope to know more.

Everyone involved with the Astros medical staff, from the head trainer to the intern that takes coffee orders, needs to be fired. This shit is absurd.

100%

Either fully incompetent or they’re lying to Dana and Crane

Yes, because this is all an exact science with rigid timelines and no one ever has a setback.

Cui bono?  It makes no fucking sense that the medical staff would lie about player injuries.  There's no benefit to it.

Y'all need to grow up and realize that in the real world, medical diagnoses and treatment plans have a measure of uncertainty and error.

These are precessional athletes and he is arguably, or maybe not arguably, the biggest part of the team. Why wait months to see a specialist? Why isn’t this done at the beginning? This isn’t Coper Hummel. This guy should see the best from the beginning to get him back asap. We all understands setbacks happen but these guys are always 1 step forward , 2 months back. It’s absurd for an organization of professional athletes to seem this non chalant with getting things diagnosed and treated correctly as soon as possible. They don’t just miss now and then. It’s often. Or they enjoy looking incompetent.

Same. I texted a couple people that you know it's bad when Hummel is the correct decision to start

Springer went 3/4 2 HR and 7 RBI.

Also a cheaper option..

Trey Mancini exercised his opt-out with the Arizona Diamondbacks and is now a free agent, source tells @TheAthletic. Batted .363 with nine homers, 26 RBIs and a 1.125 OPS for Triple A Reno in June - impressive numbers, even in a hitter-friendly environment.

Can't be any worse than Trammel or Guillorme

Haha. I was fearing what it would look like with Pena and was pleasantly surprised at how tonight’s lineup looks.

could be a whole lot worse

They should have brought up Matthews and played him everyday until the all star break.
I doubt he’s ready by the way, but it would be fun and it might work out.
There’s no real reason not to do that.

As mentioned up thread, the downside is if he’s trade bait and he shits the bed, there goes any chance we have at getting a decent LH bat.

#6788

walker or guillermo can easily put up 2025 yordan numbers. we got this far without him

we are in the hunt for best record in AL. choo choo mother fuckers, yordan and whomever can stay at station.  this train isn't stopping

lot of good players fighting to get back.

Trade Alvarez for that OF bat. Altuve needs to be the fulltime DH on this team moving forward. You might get a decent prospect and ready for MLB OF. Matthews should be the 2B moving forward as well.
