I snuck on to the field and did the same thing, spreading my Dads ashes out in RF in 2019. We used to watch 50+ games a year together in section 134. Made me a Stros fan since birth. He had the best s

Cubs Milwaukee and Detroit all lose and by 6pm best record in majors

When will Espada fucking learn to bunt with shitty hitters.

He is just now mastering how to properly fill out a line up card to include the correct pitcher and how to buy plane tickets on line.

Yep.  After all of the angst over the past couple of weeks, no one in MLB is more than a game better than the Astros at this point.

Dana says they expect Paredes and Meyers back in August. I absolutely do not believe him.  Very vague on those guys. He was much more specific on the other guys.
I had pens back in the Nats series, might kiss that by a series but should be soon. Yordan maybe 8/5-8/10.
sounded like Arrighetti and Javier were 2 or 3 starts away pain free.

He didn't say which August.

Oh sure, piss on our hopes with those last two words.  That is the Holy Grail of recovery for Astros fans in just one of the 17 lost souls on the IL.

I mean, you right.  He left the door open to say that when August 2025 comes and goes.

"Oh, did you assume I meant this August? Well that's on you"

he doesn't want to win manager of the year by a landslide, wants to keep it close and build up some suspense

I know they are talking about “Robo-umps”

Can we not do a “Robo-Mgr” and just plug all (edit-had originally said GM, mean manager)

players and their stats into an AI model and just spit out lineups, bullpen rotation and situational hitting calls?

Can’t be any worse than this dude

You referring to the GM who has a roster with 17 players on the IL and somehow has cobbled together enough talent to have a lead in division?

Oh,  I am not completely certain that most of the things you referenced in your 3rd line are decisions making by the manager and the coaching staff and not the GM.

Fairly certain no one on this board foresaw that lineup for the Astros in July and I call bullshit if anyone claims there would be a better chance of Brice Matthews hitting in the 5-spot for a MLB division leader than Yordan Alvarez.

please talk more shit about this line up

pick up the pace

what a shitty fuckin lineup!

"I look forward to the days I don't have to watch Hummel bat flip on a fly ball to the warning track." -my youngest son watching the game last night

that hurts my head to comprehend Joe putting this together.

like for sure, I bet he says, wait'll they see this one posted, LOL!

why not, lets fuckin' go, boys!

the other day, the tv crew said Trammel had never hit 5th in a lineup before.

Joe says hold my beer!

The thing about it though is every one of those guys except Chas and Whitcomb, so far, have had their big moment in the spotlight. They will all be able to say they actually contributed this year and not just sat on the bench and were “on the Astros”. If Astros somehow smoke and mirror their way to the World Series, teams will be trying to sign Trammell just for the juju.

Astros gonna be handing out like 55 player WS rings next year

Joe just keeps lighting explosives with progressively shorter fuses. It's as if he's obsessed with finding out where the absolute escapable limit is. At most, we have to be within a few millimeters of it today.

If my roster was decimated by injuries, I would probably make adjustments to the off day schedule to make sure 2 regulars weren't out of the lineup on the same day.

Especially if one is 24

That’s why you won’t be manager of the year

Then fucking change the plan Joe!!! Wtf are you thinking?? You don't have the luxury of starting a caboose full of turds right now. Need some hitters to hit. Let Altuve DH and Cam play RF. Cam is barely old enough to drink, he can wait a few weeks for an off day.

this seems so mother fucking obvious. my gawd why.

It's been close to 3 weeks since we last scored in the first inning, or scored first at all.

except on Framber starts, its been a guarantee lately we're down 0-1 in the first

Lefties have a near .800 OPS against Pfaadt, so let's leave Singleton on the bench on a clear get away day lineup.

Most manage by the “book” at this point. I like to find this book and burn it.

where is the stat for consecutive games in which our opponent has scored first? scrolled back a few pages and couldn’t find it

Were at 14 straight now. Last time we scored first was on the 4th of July.

Did anyone fall out of the elevator at the hotel this morning?

Each day is just another fucked up injury or continuation of injury status.
