Espada has been pitching Abreu and Hader with a 4 run lead all year.

Cause Espadas raisin balls are up in his throat and he is fishing for a win

nobody knows

I am still trying to understand all the outfield moves made tonight.

Obviously someone has cast a confusion spell on the Espada, need someone to start muttering a counter curse.

Great. Another rental and Framber's a FA.

Cool.

Why wait?  Pre meltdowns are cool.

Correa (age 30) is batting 0.267 and 0.720 OPS in 93 games played. Loved playing in Houston. 3 years, $92M left + some avoidable vesting years.

Arenado (age 34) is batting 0.235 and 0.662 OPS in 95 games played. Blocked trade to Houston. 2 years, $31M left on contract.

Suarez (age 34) is batting 0.248 and 0.898 OPS in 105 games played. Hit by fastball in hand/wrist and status is unknown. UFA after this season.

I'd say advantage Correa unless you can get one of the other two for significantly cheaper. But I'm still Team Sell since I'm doubtful Yordan comes back, that Pena hits as well as he had been whenever he comes back, or that any of our old pitchers can be counted on when/if they return.

Why the hell would the Astros trade for Carlos, a guy that it has been proven can't pass a pre-trade physical due to his body falling apart, when they can't keep the players they already have healthy.

Suarez is the obvious advantage because he can actually hit a home run which is what we fucking need....but I am not sure what he would cost.

Trying to figure out how we could trade our farm system when most of it is on the major league roster right now

They are going to have to get an infielder if they want to make the playoffs this year.  Taking on Correa's contract will drop what you have to give up for him.

That Correa stuff definitely has legs. All about how much salary the Twins will eat. Twins are motivated to get off the contract with their potential sale. I guess I can see the vision of Correa at third and Paredes to second next year. Also sounds like Paredes is done for the year. The easiest way for us to add to the ML club is to deal from the ML club and the even easier way is to absorb salary like Correa or Arenado but thats all on Crane. Would have been better just to have signed Bregman this offseason instead of revisiting Carlos but oh well. Dana has to get a fuck ton done in the next 48 hours, standing pat and saying "Getting our guys off the IL is like making a trade" will make me vomit blood. Need 2 bats and a starter...hell I have no problem taking on all of Correas salary if the Twins throw in Joe Ryan and Willi Castro

Correa makes no sense except to fanboys like Schwab. He’s diminished, he’s expensive, has no place to play next year, he’s injury prone and he’s not left handed.

Paredes can play 2nd base.  That isn't an issue.

He’s played 67 games at second in career with a -3 DRS. He’s a 0 DRS at third this year. We take an average 3rd baseman and make him a below average second baseman. Thought we had a couple of those.

Paredes can't play anywhere right now which actually IS THE ISSUE.

Adding an overpriced player with a broken down body does little for this year to address pitching problems and more importantly goes against the strategy Crane has used in negotiating contracts.

No,  the easiest way would have been for Paredes to not get hurt because when he was well the Astros were fine at third and not tied to Bregman for a long term deal  with a player in his 30's who has a habit of getting hurt and the Astros don't need to burn draft picks on going over the luxury tax for guys past their prime and falling apart.

Sure, let's get another infielder on the back end of his career because of feelings.

While we are at it the Rockets need to bring back Harden and Chris Paul and the Texans need to get Hopkins and lure JJ out of retirement.

All of this.

I like Suarez best out of those 3 options, but none of them enchubbens me at all.

The problem is that there's only 1 Dubon on the team.  He can't fill all the injury holes.  I don't care if it's not Correa, but it needs to be someone if they want a shot at the playoffs.

100 percent. But there are a lot of guys without Correas baggage for the results. I understand people love Correa and love good stories and happy endings. Dana and Crane could make some major points with a majority of the fanbase. I have no doubt it would create a buzz and fill seats for a while. On paper doesn’t strike me as the smartest baseball move. But I’m just another dumb fan who likes to play GM.

A friend just texted me that if a Correa deal happens, Willi Castro could be included.

And who would we be parting ways with to collect infielders?
