I snuck on to the field and did the same thing, spreading my Dads ashes out in RF in 2019. We used to watch 50+ games a year together in section 134. Made me a Stros fan since birth. He had the best s

This clown show is no longer entertaining. Fire the ringmaster.

"don't worry about what Seattle is doing"

We still pimping this or what? Probably need to start worrying about them and Tex if you aren't. We are on a one way trip to Cabo

If Altuve was the great team leader he's supposed to be, he would tell Espada to put him in the bottom of the lineup until he remembers how to hit again.

Two garbage foulouts to 1B by the GOAT who's quickly becoming the goat. But Javier is throwing BP anyway, so whatever. It's a train wreck in slow motion.

The lack of effort from the guys in gray is pretty incredible.  No one seems to have a plan when they come to the plate.

While we’re killing time, Jim Crane’s on his third marriage. Whitney Wheeler Crane. He’s 71. She’s 55. Supposedly, there is a prenup. Wife number two walked away with $30 million.

I've seen enough bad baseball in the past two months to last me a lifetime. I know some fans are trying to wish it all away and think we'll "turn it on" any day now, but seems to me we're only getting worse. Thankful for Texas football and volleyball in the near term.

Good thing I didn't realize it was a day game today! Sounds like I'm not missing anything

So what is McCullers contract status? I don't see how you don't cut ties with him.

Impressive showing from a team in the playoff hunt.

Fire everyone

buzzsaw

i hope the pitching staff took notes, that's how a #1 throws in sept

I mean thats not a buzzsaw that is just how you attack a moronic team that swings at whatever

The Royals and Indians are also in that worry range.

But I was told that Cintron helped fix Correa.

Was she the woman in 2017, or was that wife #2?

Man… as much as I hope it happens. Nothing seems to indicate this team has the talent or grit to do so. (Please please please please prove me wrong Stros!)

3 weeks?

Pretty sure we need to find some fire in the next 3 days.

That 6 game stretch against the Rangers and mariners would well sink any chances of a post season given how we’ve been playing after the [checks notes] All star break.

Edited by Dnaguy

Welp. Mariners looking to tie it up tonight.
Up 4-0 on Cards. Fucking A. The out of playoffs altogether odds are in full effect

never give up the ship ....

Carlos Correa: “Two weeks and some change left. It’s urgent. We have to play better baseball. That’s the beauty of this sport, it turns around in just one day. We have to find that day, and that day has to be soon.”

Angels just seemed to give up in the 12th inning, and Seattle wins it. Houston and Seattle are tied for the division with 15 games left.

“Seattle Took It Away”

(Verse 1)
I’m sittin’ here watchin’ the jukebox glow,
Nothin’ but heartache on the radio.
We had the lead, thought the crown was ours,
Now I’m drownin’ my sorrows in a smoky bar.

(Chorus)
Seattle took it away, on a cold, gray night,
Left Houston cryin’ ‘neath the Daikan lights.
One more round for the games we let slip,
As October dreams fade with each whiskey sip.

(Verse 2)
I still see Altuve swingin’ so proud,
Yordan's fly ball dyin’ out in the crowd.
The bullpen broke, and the bats went cold,
Now it’s Seattle’s story the papers will hold.

(Chorus)
Seattle took it away, on a cold, gray night,
Left Houston cryin’ ‘neath the Daikan lights.
One more round for the games we let slip,
As October dreams fade with each whiskey sip.

(Bridge)
I’ll raise my glass to the years gone by,
To the pennants won and the banners high.
But tonight it feels like the end of the line,
With a broken heart and a bottle of wine.

(Chorus – soft, final)
Seattle took it away, on a cold, gray night,
Left Houston cryin’ ‘neath the Daikan lights.
So pour me another, and let that band play…
‘Cause Seattle took it all away.

(Outro)
Yeah, they took it all away.

Sung by Fall Out Boy cause thats very emo

If the team miss the playoffs... I guess guys have more time to recover. And we can speculate/hope for staff changes. Crane can stew on missing out on that sweet, sweet playoff revenue and be pissed that the team wasn't built better to accomplish that goal.

Ok Mack “too much winning is bad for the guys” Brown….

but yeah, these are two positive outcomes of such a scenario

There is no fire with this team. Shitty at bats, half hearted base running. No hunger. Almost complacency. I really don’t even sense any joy in them. Something just seems off in the dugout from recent years. I used to watch every inning of every game but I’ve turned the page to football. It’s not the losing, it’s the way they lose. If they don’t care then I don’t care. Maybe I’ll watch again next year. Maybe.

About as good a summation as I've read. I was pretty ambivalent about losing Bregman, Tucker, Verlander and Pressly, despite their career track records. But once Paredes went down, and then Hader, the bubble burst. Maybe we just haven't had enough horses to get it done, though I can't find any excuse for the apparent lack of leadership with this bunch. The veterans have only days left to show they care as much as the fans do.

Who knows how Altuve leads... but either he doesn't or rest of the club isn't receptive.

I think he's more lead by example.

The dawning reality is that the team lacks the horses and was very lucky in the first half.  They also don't appear to have any of that 2020 magic in which you could keep faith they might get hot and turn it around.

If you start digging into the team stats it's more surprising they aren't in third.  Arizona actually has a better run differential and they are a game below .500.  I'll leave it to @Wulaw Horn or @Snake Diggity to research the best targets, but they need to an outfield version of Isaac Paredes who will grind out at bats and get on base.
