March 27Mar 27 Guess I might as well start it. 0-1 already, but should be decent and can be pretty good if Strider and Acuna come back at 100%.
March 28Mar 28 With the way Snitker manages a bullpen, could be a long year. Bringing in Hector Neris with Gavin Holmes, Daysbel Hernandez, or even Pierce Johnson is unacceptable. Team should still be fun but could be a roller coaster with the pen.
April 1Apr 1 Y'all obviously saw the Profar news, but Elder & ol' boy Jesse Chavez rejoined the team today. Neris DFA'd.
April 1Apr 1 Author Reynaldo Lopez placed on IL for shoulder inflammation. With a series with the Dodgers coming up, not sure how long it will be before we get our first win..

April 16Apr 16 Quote Atlanta Braves right-hander Spencer Strider allowed two runs and five hits in five-plus innings in his return to the mound against the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday afternoon. Making his first big league appearance in 376 days because of surgery to repair the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow, Strider struck out five, walked one and hit a batter in the 3-1 loss. He threw 97 pitches, 58 for strikes. Quote Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had two of the five hits off Strider, including an RBI single in the third inning and a solo home run into the second deck on a full-count slider in the sixth. The homer -- a 412-foot drive -- was Guerrero's first of the season. "For me, didn't do a good job of executing with two strikes," Strider said. "Felt like my off-speed [pitches] didn't have a lot of conviction, a lot of consistency. That makes it hard to pitch." Strider followed that by walking Anthony Santander, and Braves manager Brian Snitker immediately replaced Strider with left-hander Dylan Lee. "My job isn't to come back and have a moment and all that," Strider said. "That's not how I look at it. I'm here to help the team." Strider struck out Bo Bichette on three pitches to begin the game. His hardest pitch was a 98 mph fastball to Guerrero in the first. Sounds like Strider had decent stuff in his return. If we can get Acuna back and remain relatively healthy, perhaps we can eventually win two in a row.
April 22Apr 22 Can Kimbrel take Iglesias's spot? 26 pitches and some amazing dumb luck tonight. I am thankful for 4 straight wins!
April 28Apr 28 Kelenic gone for the immortal Eddie Rosario. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/04/braves-sign-eddie-rosario-option-jarred-kelenic.html
May 10May 10 Quote The addition of Luke Williams does little other than re-up his roster barnacle status. Williams has -0.4 fWAR and a 59 wRC+ in 315 career PAs, and that comes with him outhitting his xwOBA, which is more than a little dire. He’s played every position but catcher in a major league game, but hasn’t really excelled defensively, either. He had a 2 wRC+ (lol) in 83 PAs at Gwinnett before the call-up and basically just gives the Braves another pinch-runner/defensive replacement option, but should never grab a bat if things are going even remotely well. Or maybe he’s the team’s new designated bunter, who knows. https://www.batterypower.com/2025/5/9/24427064/atlanta-braves-roster-move-eddie-rosario-luke-williams Don’t see the bolded stat line get promoted often.
May 23May 23 He’s back. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/05/braves-expected-to-activate-ronald-acuna-on-friday.html
June 8Jun 8 Author All these super team-friendly contracts and looks like we’ll just get 1 WS title out of it (which was won without Acuna).

I'm still salty about letting Freddie scoot to LA, which was what really fucked us. Obviously wouldnt help with the bullpen meltdowns, but he was the heart of the Braves. Still, even in '21 we had a losing record at the end of July. Front office gonna have to make some moves.

Freddie leaving was a blow, but I think the window officially closed when Fried walked with Anderson never getting back to form. Also, all those club-friendly contracts aren’t really bargains with Acuna and Albies missing huge chunks of games putting them at a per game average of what they probably should be at anyway.
June 14Jun 14 Aw fuck. We're gonna lose to the Rockies. (yes, just the 2nd inning but bases loaded, no outs) Edited June 14Jun 14 by Fuga
June 21Jun 21 Real bad. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/06/braves-place-chris-sale-on-15-day-il-with-ribcage-fracture.html

I read a headline somewhere that didn't mention the type of injury or IL duration, and I immediately figured he needed tommy john on both elbows.
July 2Jul 2 And more pain. Quote Braves ace Spencer Schwellenbach has a fractured pitching elbow, becoming the latest Atlanta starter sidelined with a long-term injury. The Braves announced Wednesday that Schwellenbach was placed on the 15-day injured list as part of a series of roster moves. The team did not disclose how long Schwellenbach will be sidelined, but MLB.com reported that the second-year right-hander won't throw for at least four weeks. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/45648056/braves-spencer-schwellenbach-fractured-pitching-elbow
July 12Jul 12 Blow it up. Fire everyone Everyone should be on the block. Need to rebuild the weak ass farm system to compete in 2030.
December 11Dec 11 Author As of now, I guess he’s sharing time at DH with Murphy and ultimately our 3rd OFer.
December 11Dec 11 He is the starting LF against RHP, Jurickson Will DH. Edited December 11Dec 11 by shadow_operative2.0
December 11Dec 11 Quote The left-handed Yastrzemski had an .809 OPS against right-handed pitchers —— Also notable is his long track record of strong defense in San Francisco, where he was twice named a Gold Glove finalist (2021, '24) spending most of his time in a challenging right field. Yastrzemski's 11 outfield assists in 2025 were also tied for third-most in baseball, trailing only Steven Kwan (13) and Jordan Beck (12), an MLB-high nine of which came before the All-Star break.
December 16Dec 16 Quote The Braves are bringing back Ha-Seong Kim on a $20MM contract, reports Jon Heyman of The New York Post. It’s a one-year deal, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. Kim had declined a $16MM player option and earns a $4MM raise to return as Atlanta’s starting shortstop.
December 16Dec 16 Author Also picked up Robert Suarez (an Iglesias clone) last week. Don’t really see us picking up anyone else significant. If we can just stay healthy, we can contend with anyone, but haven’t had a semi-healthy season in a while (including our WS year).
December 18Dec 18 if the starting rotation is healthy, the team can compete next year. if not, they'll be spare. Strider, Schwellenbach, Sale, and Waldrep have the potential to be about as good of a 1-4 as you can ask for.

Guess as insurance for injuries and if Strider never gets back to form.
