I think it switched when Augie took over?  In the 90's when I left Austin it was 1st base side and that is where the hecklers sat... When I came back in the early 2000's for my first home game in a while it was changed..

Texas was in the third base dugout all through the Gus era. I don't know if the switch happened right at 1997 or if it was a few years later. But by the early 2000s it was how it is now.

The switch didn’t happen until the renovation. The team didn’t like having to go across the field to get from the locker room to the dugout. 2008 I believe or thereabouts

Gotcha. So after 2005 then.

Yes 2005 we were on the 3rd base side.

Shift was made round the time they made the big reno at the disch. When we built the locker rooms in the first base side. Still the old locker rooms in the doc about Augie

Did I see 15-4?  Jesus.  Are they a legit title contender?

Maybe. But the real takeaway is that Mizzou is fucking terrible.

I have a theory that the move to 1st is why we haven’t won since 05.

The offense can mash, which we knew would be the case. The starting pitching has been really good but I think there’s still questions there. The bullpen has been the real bright spot.

Spencer needs to figure out how to get through 7 innings every Friday. Maybe our rotation’s lack of efficiency is why schloss is keeping 3 bullpen arms stretched out to 50-60 pitches.

Ummmmm

There is a chance we may not see Belyeu today.

Wrist issue from that diving catch in the 7th.

Should have won in 2021, 2014, and 2009. Cursed.

Missouri? No probably not.

rest him for georgia

Both ARod and Belyeu have their wrists tapped. Guessing we won't see either.

Officially no ARod or Belyeu game 1. Winfield and Farmer in the outfield, Borba at 3B, Stewart at DH

still no explanation on ARod, all they said was "he was pulled after one AB".

Thumb. I think he was closer to playing than Belyeu.

Yikes. Scary lineup taking out our two best left handed hitters in the meat of the order against a rightie pitcher.

Got spanked 15-4 and the 2 gays are still doing the horns down.

Not quite as strong a start this time. Zone seems bigger today.

Radio broadcast went to crap.  Sounds like they are gargling mouthwash or drowning.

yeah the Wild Bunch was behind the visitors. if my memory is correct there was some incident with Pete Incaviglia. I know there was during batting practice with him and the Texas players where he challenged them to fights, but I want to say something happened with him and the Wild Bunch. could be wrong. i could be conflating the two things.

Wild Bunch were in section 2 and Incaviglia was being heckled by the entire Texas bench, and he walked over to the dugout and challenged them to come out and fight him. After the Texas win, this guy who nobody knew came down from the upper deck and went down to the railing by the OSU dugout. He was yelling at the OSU players, and somebody grabbed him and over the fence he went, and the players started beating the hell out of the guy.

Most of us were either in the aisle or at the top near the exit tunnel watching this, I was still in the aisle. Out of the Texas dugout came a running Billy Bates and when he got to the fracas one OSU coach turned around and started to hit him with a bat till, he saw who it was. Then the UT cops got there and broke it up and arrested the guy.

After the game in the parking lot when the players started coming out, Billy came over and I asked him. Billy why did you come out and try to get into that. He told me he was getting undressed in the locker room when a manager told him and the team that the OSU players and coaches were beating the hell out of some Wild Bunch guy, and I came out to help. I told him nobody had ever seen this guy before and had no idea who he was.

Funny thing was that a few weeks later Scott Wilson, me and some others were going to a road series somewhere, might have been Arkansas, we were waiting to change planes in Dallas, and we saw that guy and we walked over and talked to him and asked about what he did. He said he was pretty drunk and sitting upstairs with his son and that's why he did it, but he would never do it again.

Double to get the 2nd started.

Yuck on two quick outs. We seem a little impatient today.
