Ah, android or iPhone? If iPhone all the browsers are the same underneath only the skins are different so it would be Firefox specific. If android I'll take a look what device and version?

OK I'll give it a go. Do you have any add-ons or script blockers?

Can you try dark theme and let me know if it's the same?

I always use dark theme, and yeah I use uBlock Origin on Firefox mobile.

15 posts in the last 15 minutes I think

Notifications not taking me to the quoted post or reacted to post.  Drops me somewhere randomly on the page.  Same as used to happen on mobile.  Chrome on Mac laptop.

Starting approximately 2-3 days ago, surly on Chrome on my (android) mobile doesn't render properly any more.  It's like the CSS is slightly off.  The up arrow button that appears when you dcroll a page is right justified so that 40% of the button is off screen.  I assume this has to do with the sidebar content changes that were made recently.  It's not a huge problem, but it can be annoying.

Addendum: pressing the "to the top" button no longer scrolls to the very top of the page.  It stops short like its now confined within a container div section.

Might be from the motto change.

On mobile safari (portrait orientation) it just makes a wide gray area to the right, as the motto extends past the edge of the div.

Maybe setting an overflow and center on that would help, and in turn help your issue as well?

Yeah, that's what I'm seeing as well, except the gray zone is smaller on my screen.

It really hasn’t bothered me much. I zoom in just enough to make the content fit the screen like it usually does.

But that may help someone else out, so I shared.

That's what I've done as well and it's why the "scroll to the top" button is only 60% visible.  It's still functional, but looks wonky.

Does your scroll to the top button scroll to the top of the page or to just under the main nav menu?

This is what I see.  Last image is what I see after pressing scroll to top button.

The scroll to top button works correctly.  I just have to shrink the screen fully first.

Activity streams just went down.

This.  Just came to report.  Time to reindex

So the only thing this could be is a malicious shithead dropping the index on purpose. There is no other explanation at this point. The logs show nothing crashing and no corruption. I thought we were through this after the last round and after I moved the cluster somewhere else.

Is there a way for ES to be isolated from the world, and only allow traffic between specific IP’s? Internal network only?

I thought you had mentioned previously it wasn’t published, but in theory be accessed if the IP was known.

Just spitballin here, but certainly is quite the curiosity.

Not sure if this helps as an observation, but when you kicked it last night it pulled up an unread thread from a couple weeks ago. Maybe over time things begin to fall through the cracks, and over the period becomes worse until it implodes?

This would all be solved if the stupid fucking forum software supported authentication.

Why wouldn’t they? Are they that short handed? Seems like a big oversight.

Shit like that is so damn frustrating. I feel your pain.

It's crazy that the ES cluster is exposed to the world, and not hidden behind a private subnet or some other mechanism that would enable you to layer auth on top.

What kind of software lets unauthed users take action against an indexed data source?? That doesn't seem correct that it's possible

I may actually just change something real quick to do that again.
