Anything from Invision about it? Other operators having a similar issue?

From the screenshots it looked like maybe a css issue?

Wild. Safari/css has been pretty good for a long time. I wonder what the deal is that broke it this go-around.

Just upgraded iOS and see the same reaction borks mentioned above.

Posts are taking a long time to load in iOS.

Mines been loading like shit on pages with a bunch of different embeds from off-site.

To add to the above,  acting like a js issue that’s eating up a ton of memory/processor time.

Everything slow af.  It’s like Mateer’s thumb around here.  Please fix.

I think the fix for the new version fucked up the old version…I don’t have a phone on 18 anymore.

Shit I’m an old.  Do I need to update my iOS version?

edit: everything smooth now.  Odd

You should update your iOS version just for baseline security patches. Especially if you have any banking or money-related apps on your phone

I need to know more about what's happening besides "it’s slow" from people. It's not your fault but I don't know what is broken. I know it's iOS 18 related now and not 26.

I literally work in technical support so I get it, just hadn’t had time to provide good details until now.

I’m using iOS Dark mode and the surly dark theme on Safari.

I click on a thread and the page takes a long time to load. I see a solid black/grey background. I can scroll but no posts show and nothing populates until I stop and give it nearly 10 seconds to load. It does this with regular posts of just texts in addition to images/gif and embeds.

I switched to Chrome and it loads like normal so this is likely limited to Safari.

Weird. Chrome and safari on iOS are both the same browser engine just different skins.

@TKthunder2

Is it every single page?

What about your feed list, or one of the board indexes?

When mine was exhibiting similar behavior it was only on pages with a lot of js type elements. Whether it be embedded content, quote boxes, whatever.

However the pages without that type of stuff were still loading fine.

18.7 didn’t help me either, but 26 did. Well, if you don’t count 26 not being very good.

Not using feed, just using the headers.

I was in the SEC catch all thread and even this thread were laggy. I’ll go click around on some others see if it’s limited to certain  ones or all.

Seems to be on all threads for me but some recover faster (3 seconds on the Ukraine thread) and others slower (7 seconds on the 2026 recruiting thread)

Thank jesus imma doesn’t have to deal with a game this week. This shit fucking sucks.

He knows damn well I try to help him via PM most times, but this is awful. No other site has this issue.

Just for point of order, this is how the Lee Harvey thread loaded.

That’s not user error.

[laughs in Android]

but seriously, this seems like an issue between the Invision board software and iOS/webkit. It's a bummer for imma but I'm also not sure what options he has since it's a closed source software

Fwiw, I’m having the same issue with Safari 18.6.2, I presume it’s embeds.

Well, I was going to continue to attempt to help, but you deleted my last post. Cool, I’ll see you kids on laptop around 6:30 for CFB & NFL.

I deleted your worthless post talking shit to me when I'm actively trying to fucking help.

Whatever change you made, it's causing Windows desktop Chrome browsing to look horribad and load extremely slowly. The header is furked and themes are borked, currently on Surly Main (default)

edit: actually pageload is pretty fast now that my browser cached the style, but the style is still whack

Is it still an issue in chrome?

ooh, whatever you did sped things up dramatically.  I think you're on the right track if you haven't fixed it entirely.

this was probably you loading the page while it was regenerating all the css sitewide. try refreshing like 50 times and it'll cache invalidate the non-existent css file.
