I cannot even scroll all of the way down the football main page without getting booted.

Not even clicking any threads.

I mean that shouldn't be happening. Did you try right now?

Still happening for me, too. It’s been happening since the last update (I think), but it’s noticeably worse in the last 24 hours. Have cleared cookies, restarted chrome, etc.

What device/os?

Can y'all log in with incognito and try that?

iPhone 16 pro max, OS26.1

Confirmed still happening with incognito. I used the movie you just watched thread as a test.

Yea been happening for me a lot the past few days. Same phone and chrome also. Start scrolling and get an can’t be reached webpage error

Safari seemed to work a little better, but it did crash with the attached message. It’s been like this for me since the last update, but manageable. But much worse all of the sudden. Don’t think there has been a recent update

Still crashing in chrome for me. I’ll just try to use safari, which was working better

The “a problem repeatedly occurred” crash is particularly bad this morning - happening while logged in on every thread. This is in iOS Safari.

i can't reproduce any of this on my ios devices. Does changing themes help?

The only thread I've ever encountered the crash on was the Ukranian thread in DT, and now it's not happening for me.

For the past month, every page with >10 pics or Twitter embeds crashes. First a soft crash where the page resets, then a black screen error message the same as in post above. Safari on iPhone, updated to iOS 26.x, delete cache and history weekly (which requires signing back in).

When was the last time it did this? I rebuilt everything and changed the lazy load script.

I did notice a crash last night on Android, but I attributed it to the Michigan thread tanking the hosting servers.  Probably page 4 or so.  Might have been due to overposting the side chick's tweets?

Can you try with the IPS - Default theme?

Idk if it's the theme or the forum software.

I will try Safari.

None of the websites I visit are doing this.

Both of you

Just in case anyone isn’t sure what imma means, go to the very bottom of your screen.

IMG-2270.jpg

I use Main - Dark on PC, Dark iOS18 on older iPad. It’s annoying to switch back & forth, but whatever.

IPS - Default is that one in the middle.

I have an iPhone 13 mini. The new iOS got uploaded a day or two ago, and now I am back to the point where this

IMG_5622.thumb.jpeg.b5429b95fedab056c5ec6143a73a4b15.jpeg

appears in the middle of the page and floats around as you try to scroll the Paige page.  The last time this happened, I changed themes, which seemed to fix it.    Now, no matter whether I use the default or the 18 iOS or the no avatar version, it still happens.

I’m only mentioning this in case it gives you some better diagnostic as to what is happening.

Ahhhhh.  Worked.  Much obliged Imma

IPS default was a success. No more crashes. Thanks!

This worked for me about crashing. But would it be difficult to include the list of forums like you have on the main default theme?

evrything loading super slow for me the last 30 minutes.  phone and desktop.

Curious, shouldn't something like fail2ban kick their asses out real quick?  I mean, you'd probably permaban Derka after a basketball game at the rate he F5s and posts in there, but all for the greater good, right?

No? They were using Unique IPs too. Check out the home page and most users online ever stat now. Lmao.

For the past several weeks, anytime there is anything embedded in a thread, whether it be a tweet, a bluesky post, an instragram, or whatever, my screen just freezes on it (doesn't always matter if the embed is loaded or not) for like ten to fifteen seconds. If you keep trying to scroll, the screen still logs the scrolling, and when it unfreezes you end up scrolled down to wherever you scrolled to. I'm on a Galaxy S22 Ultra using Chrome.

Basketball was playing last night, we sure it wasn't Derka having an episode? /s

That said, guests being 5x the total members, impressive.  You have stats on the IPs?  Would be curious if they could be back-traced to given data centers or ASNs.  Frankly, we built a blocklist on all our firewalls blocking probably the 20 or so biggest malicious ASNs on the interwebz, and took our failed connections from 100s per minute down to virtually nothing.  Now if you have people trying to log in via some North Korean VPN, they might be up a creek...

Europe. China Singapore and HK are banned.

The real number was less impressive but still cool at over 10k.

Yeah this is because of the shitty way the forum embeds stuff. I had a plugin to fix it, but that plugin was causing a redirect to platform.twitter because everything on the internet is garbage.

I am thinking about moving to the entirely new version of the board software (5.X) as its no longer maintained on this version (4.X)

There's a lot of changes and I wanna test it and get a good theme before doing it. It'll change some of the layout and stuff and there's a lot of new functionality.

14 minutes ago, NotActuallyALonghorn said:

Thanks. Was partly throwing that out there to see if my phone is just getting too old to work well.

Try the IPS - default theme. If that works better I'll actually move themes before we decide to wholesale move to the new forum software. It seems like it's a lot less customizable.

Since Steve Jobs died and Tim Cook took over, Apple has not produced ONE significant new product that derives significant revenue. Everything is a derivative of things Jobs initiated.

And the quality and usability of Apple products have slowly and consistently declined since that same day.

This shit would never have happened under Jobs. Jobs was an asshole and a flawed human being. But he was also one of the greatest businessmen, if not the greatest, in the history of the world.

Tim Cook is a fraud. Apple rant over.
