Anybody find a fix for this on mobile? It happens every two minutes to me now so I gave up and got on my iPad lol.

Will do. Ads should only be showing for those not logged in. Let me know if you are seeing ads still.

Yup, you got it... Thanks!

For anyone that is having trouble with Tapa. I was apparently logged out of surly on Tapa when shit got borked and my password wasn't working to login. I hit the reset password and it kept spinning and never went to the reset page. I closed the app, reopened it, and I was logged in and could access the site. Just FYI if anyone has similar issues.

Well, still can’t log in on my iPad, just this little iPhone.

Guess my posting will be scarce

Is the Tapa Participated tab working for anyone?

Is the Tapa Participated tab working for anyone?

FYI clearing the cache fixed this

iphone browser issues similar to what convinced posted above.. with the google ads/survey.  It somehow logged me out and then i can't log back in without the google ad popping up. no issue on my personal computer.

Photos don’t seem to be embedding properly on safari mobile.

saved photos now showing up as a link. I reported an example post.

Seems fine. I think it's because you uploaded it in .webp

Not sure what I did differently. Never had an issue uploading photos in mobile Safari the same way before.
.webp never worked as embeds. I don't really know why could have just been that file image?

Perhaps. I just did a google search for images and saved the image to my photos in my phone. Usually always saves as a jpg or gif and uploads fine to surly but both images I saved this time saved this way.

Weird, let me know if it keeps happening.

I was able to post an image no problem using Chrome desktop; I wonder if latest iOS update (mine updated last night) changed something with images downloaded off of Safari.

Could I please get something other than liver damage ads in the CR?  Hits a little close to home.

The last week or so I’ll click on a link and my iPhone will spaz and lock. Only happens on here. Anyone else?

Been happening to me for a while.  Reboots the iphone.  Only happens on this site. I have found that if you long press and bring up the preview, and then load that, it doesn't bork to teh reset.

Another iphone thing lately is clicking on a board or a notification and getting some failure to load message with a black screen.

The link issue for a few weeks, the other issue more recently. iOS14.6

The chronicle link in the Abbott thread this morning is really messing with mine. Just in case a specific example is helpful.

Yep was just coming to see if I was the only move having this issue clicking links on an iPhone and it re-starting my phone.  The chronicle link mentioned above just did it to me.

CLoak room thus far only forum I still get ads in. Have logged out/back in and that fixed other forums.

@immamac

The issue with links causing the iPhone to crash is still occurring using safari as the browser. It’s moved beyond just Twitter (which is hit or miss if it crashes these days) and happens with all sorts of links. Pretty much playing Russian roulette with any link I click on here these days. Most annoying is when you’re scrolling and accidentally tap a linked item and phone crashes even though you didn’t have intention of flaking it. I did try and use the Cookie Monster to fix and it didn’t make a difference.

Anyone else still having this issue?

Yes. Often.

It also happens sometimes when just clicking the "open tabs" button in lower right hand side of safari browser from the site.  Seems like there is something about backing out of the surly site that borks the move to the "tabs view".  The same process appears to be in play when you click a link, it trys to go to tabs view in the process of opening the new tab and crashes. Doesn't happen if you do the long press preview and then open from there.  Haven't been able to replicate similar behavior from other sites, fwiw.

I do know that surly is a resource hog, but it's more like an app than a "website" from a functionality perspective.

The advice I have been giving everyone is if you bookmark in chrome or whatever it opens as a SPA and looks like an app on the home screen.
