They fucking did it! They fucking did it! Vic kept knocking on the door and finally busted through. Just wanted this team to get to the final four, anything after this is gravy. Th

This will probably be one of those rare occasions where most of the country will be rooting for the Longhorns. HVL isn’t well liked and Sedona Prince is a huge piece of shit. Fuck the cockroaches.

ESPN has been pimping TCU as the Cinderella story.

This is a game where Texas' preseason conditioning will shine against a team who plays all their starters 33+ mpg.

Press those girls for 40 minutes, wear them out, get them in foul trouble - they have no depth. Texas will keep rotating guards (Preston, Lee, Harmon, Holle, Jak) and bigs (Jones and Oldacre) as needed.

Texas is the second most physical team TCU has faced all year - South Carolina crushed them.  WV pressed them for 40 minutes twice and turned them over a lot, but Texas is a more elite press defense and team than WV.

I hope this is the year Coach Schaefer gets the monkey off his back. For all the regular season successes he has had, he has underperformed in the tourney. Booker and Harmon have to play smart and under control. Oldacre and Jones need to be fed the ball often. Both are amazing in the paint.

This is 100% wrong and you should be ashamed of yourself.

That’s the aggy talking point. He’s really only had 1 or 2 years where he underperformed substantially - one year at MSU and then 2023. And our 2023 team was so flawed after Morris went out and never recovered from her injury.

He overperformed a few seasons, has met expectations or gotten close to expectations.

They don't but their best 3 players are very good and I wouldn't be surprised if this is a game late.

Granted - the officiating was so fucking horrendous last game that I think it kind of threw Texas off their game and you couple that with some bad turnovers and missed bunnies and TENN was able to hang around for 4 Qs and really threaten until the last couple mins. Play that game 20 times (with maybe a different crew) and I think Texas wins over half of them by 12+. And Texas still closed it out without much drama.

That is to say, if Texas just gets a decent (or competent, really) whistle and cleans some stuff up it's going to be some serious uphill sledding for Frog unless they go nuclear from 3.

Admittedly, I am a newer follower of WBB but I thought he had underperformed the last few years I watched us in the tourney.

Well it’s true no?  Van Lith went to play for the “best” coach and felt like she got hung out to dry by her and split LSU to TCU where she may help get to Final Four (instead of LSU).  Seems kinda Cinderella to me.

It is, in the sense that TCU has never been to a Final Four.

Texas is not going to be who people are rooting for 🤣

I got bigger things to be ashamed of than my posts on an internet message board. Some of you need to relax. It's not that serious, ffs.

espn treating TCU like a Cinderella story and they’re a 2 seed??

TCU is in year 2 under a new coach and just went 10-15, 6-22, 8-23, 19-9 (WBIT) in the prior 4 seasons

They went from 6-11 (9th in the Big 12) in 2024 to winning the Big 12 regular season and conference tournament in 2025

They are the Cinderella for their turnaround under Mark Campbell, on the back of dropping bags in the portal for HVL (Louisville/LSU), Prince (Texas/Oregon), Madison Connor (Arizona), Taylor Bigby (Oregon), Donovyan Hunter (Oregon State), Agnes Emma-Nnopu (Stanford), Madi Scherr (Oregon)

UCLA was the only other program in the Elite 8 without a Final Four, but you can't call the #1 overall seed a Cinderella lol.  USC, Texas and Duke trying to snap some long droughts

Duke - 4 Final Fours (2006 most recent)
South Carolina - 7 Final Fours
Texas - 3 Final Fours (2003 most recent)
USC -3 Final Fours (1986 most recent)
UConn - 23 Final Fours
LSU - 6 Final Fours
UCLA - none before this year
TCU - none

Especially when you consider that the tournament is only 43 years old and they didn’t make their first appearance in it until 1989. Incredible strength and consistency.

Look what happened to Stanford when Tara retired. What happens after Geno, is the question?

Chris Dailey would take over if she wants it. She’s been with Geno since day 1. But she’s 65, only 6 years younger than Geno

Doesn’t mean it’ll work. Paye was at Stanford under Tara since 2007 - it was a full on continuity from Tara to her associate HC.  Granted, Tara leaving led to a lot of departures. Would Chris keep all the talent with Geno gone?

Same with Pat Summitt. Tennessee hasn’t had that magic since she retired. Then again, I was hoping Duke would have to wander the desert in men’s basketball after Coach K retired and, well, here we are.

We also flailed around after Jody retired (a few years too late). Replacing a legend is hard.

But yeah, it ain’t always like Duke MBB

@Pancho, any insight on our officials tonight?

They sure as shit haven't had any issues replacing men's coaches.

Let’s send this marauding band of mercenaries back to Fort Worth with their collective tail between their legs

The rumors on the ref circuit was she had no interest in being a HC.

I'm just here to listen to the female announcers and ESPN pundits unnaturally force slang into every sentence.

"Madi Buckets"

"Dropped a 20-piece"

The ESPN lady just said "When was the last time someone dropped 3 30 straight pieces?" in reference to Paige Bueckers.  FFS.

Look at this big mofo, we have adorable princesses they have a straight up Prince. Is this even legal? I thought Elon stopped all this gender bending nonsense.

So their coach is a total fucking weirdo. Got it.

Think that’s the first 3 second call I’ve seen in the tournament so far

Absolutely smothering them

Fucking slopfest so far.

Just the way Texas likes it 😂

Aliyah Chavez is going to enter the portal before halftime of this game. Financially she is hurting her brand by sticking with the gooners
