Without even looking it up, I would feel comfortable wagering aggy has a dozen that would easily top it.  Also, saw this on the SECRant Sunday baseball thread

I literally quoted what you said. This is amazing. Going 5-1 at Vandy and at Ole Miss is nearly as impressive as 4-1 at home against LSU/UGA. And Arky hasn’t dropped 2 midweek games.  As I said before, the resumes are comparable. Nothing is “clear”.

Right. So did you read what you quoted. And in what you quoted I stipulated “if Aggy beats Tennessee”.
Ole Miss isn’t a top 5 team, and we’ve beaten them. Vandy isn’t a top 5 team. Arky lost to Missouri State and Kansas State which is equal at best to our losses to UTSA and Tx St.
We have two top 5 series wins. Our resume is clearly better.

For whatever it's worth, which is probably nothing, Arky's RPI going into this weekend was 1, and ours was 12.

If that’s what Rex needs to hear to leave the baseball board that’s fine with me.

I don't think we are actually a top 3 team until we get Rodriguez back. If he and Belyeu weren't hurt, I think with what we have in the bullpen with Grubbs and Volantis, we are somewhere in the 1-3 actual best teams. We just can't be right now due to those 2 guys being out. Can Gasparino continue to hit like this? I think that will be the key to us continuing to do well.

100%. Losing those two bats is massive in this lineup. There just isn’t much depth. Winfield being a bust hurts this roster so much

Kansas St is 8-2 in first place in the Big 12

Would be a bit silly if Tenn only dropped to 2 or 3. They got shit on by a basement dweller at home. LSU lost on the road to a top 10 team and dropped to 7

Texas will definitely move up, with a win tomorrow to probably #2. A loss could move you down to #3.

Sweep or at least a series win over #3 Georgia.

Tennessee is #1 and loses the series to lowly Aggy at home. Two bad losses.

Then there is #4 Florida State, who got run ruled today at home in seven innings to Wake Forest 12-0.

Arkansas is #2 and will beat up on Missouri in two games tomorrow to run their overall record to 30-3 and no worse than tied for first in the SEC with a 11-1 record.

Texas at #5 will either be tied with Pig at 11-1 in the SEC or at 10-2. A win tomorrow gives Texas a 26-4 overall record, a loss 25-5.

The loss to Texas State Tuesday has to figure into the equation some.

Basically, Pig will be #1.

With a win tomorrow Texas will probably be #2.

A loss and the Vols might stay at #2 and Texas #3.

The real thing to remember is that these rankings at this point don't mean that much.

Tennesseee lost 1 game to aggy in their 2 game series.

Huh?

Fuck, didn’t see the double header.

Nevermind, lol!

Tennessee is dropping a lot farther than 2 or 3. Assuming Missouri doesn’t pull off the impossible they will fall behind Arky, Texas, LSU, and Clemson at minimum. After that it is a matter of opinion and what happens today for Georgia and Florida State

They lost 7 non conference games including losses to Omaha, Creighton, and udub.

UTSA is quietly up to #31 in RPI. 7-2 in the AAC with series wins over solid FAU and UAB teams. It may not happen this week but they might be another good week away from cracking the top 25.

Texas State is also just outside the top 100 in RPI, which is the cutoff for Q4 games so it would be nice if they snuck inside that mark to make that loss sting a little less.

We have quite a few midweek games left against top 100 RPI teams: Houston Christian, Lamar and UTRGV at home + the road game at Texas State. This midweek schedule has turned out to be more challenging than I thought a few months ago.

Also, their eight conference wins have come against:

  • Utah 13-16, 2-10
  • Baylor 21-9, 5-6
  • Tech 8-18, 4-6

And they just lost to 13-14, 2-6 OSU yesterday. They're currently RPI 22, so not that far off from UTSA, actually.

Kansas State is not a bad team by any means, but they're not some world beater just because they're currently leading their conference after beating up on one average and two bad teams. There's a decent chance that one or fewer Big 12 teams makes it to a Super.

aggy is not about to roll over for us….it will be a very tough series….throw out the records….they have every incentive a team needs to pull out all the stops to spoil our year.

While in a way I do agree with you, they said coming to Kyle would be too daunting for us. They're coming to Disch Faulk and we have the better coach. He knows all of their strengths and weaknesses. We win that series 3-0, imo, because of Schloss and Weiner.

That was actually closer at 2nd than it had any right to be. Good throw.

This team is hell bent on trying to improve Kimble’s draft stock

Holy lucky bounce!

Fuck yeah! Great fucking play to get the third out at home.

Wow that wild pitch worked out.

UGA gets nothing out of it's lead off double.

Just as we planned

Schuessler has certainly been a pleasant surprise defensively at first.

Been a big lift for this team.

Do lead off hbp also score? I guess we will find out.

I guess not. Both teams squander opportunities in the 1st. Tied at 0 going to the second.

Just got a Frost Warning alert for tonight  from Weather Channel.  Thought we were done with that shit.
