Ordered a motorized raising/lowering desk from Amazon. The drive rod to work the other side won’t extend enough to engage, so only one side goes up. I want to return it. Will Whole Foods take it without me disassembling it back into box first? If not, is there another drop off that will? Thanks.

Any chance that you assembled it incorrectly? More than once I’ve had to tear something down because I assembled it backwards.

As for a return, I would disassemble it.

Naw. I’ve assembled a bunch of IKEA stuff, and am familiar with backtracking and redoing things the right way. This is a poor design (my wife selected and ordered it. When looking at the Amazon reviews, I see that a few people had the same issue).

It will be a real pain in the ass to disassemble. I’m really hoping I can just haul it in as is.

Uh, drop by Whole Foods and ask?  I doubt they'll take it fully assembled, but you might save some effort.

Yeah, I’ve got the damned thing in my car. I figured on dropping by and trying. I was hoping someone had some insight like “yeah, they’ll take it”, or “no, you have to take it to another drop off”

It might depend on the specific "locker", too.  I think Ross takes returns, right?  Try a couple to see if one nibbles.

Sounds to me like it never arrived.

They sent me a very expensive solar powered battery backup that I never ordered.  It was sent to the wrong address.  I went to that address and asked if it was their order, but nope.  I called Amazon, "keep it".

I sold it on eBay for $1200.  Thanks, Amazon.

Doesn't Amazon/vendor at least attempt to resell returned items? An assembled desk creates delivery problems.

Elevate the home repair game beyond manual screwdrivers. Disassembling a desk shouldn't take more than a few minutes with a cordless screwdriver or impact driver/wrench. Saves your wrist and forearms as well.

You could shit in a box and package it up and Amazon will take it back. And don't feel bad about it, either. Fuck Amazon. Figure out a way to box it up and slap a label on it and take it to the UPS store.

what kind of whiskey ya' drinkin'?

Reach out to the vendor if possible. They might just tell you to keep it and send you a new one.
