April 8Apr 8 colin from accounts. it's got 2 seasons (so far) on par+ and has a catastrophe/trying vibe. the two main characters are married in real life and co-created the show. i am making a suggestion, but it would be cool if this turned into a recommendation thread of not-often-talked-about shows. it's especially hard to find any good 30 min comedies these days.
April 8Apr 8 It’s a throwback but if you never watched criminally underrated ‘The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret’ you missed out. I need to give it another rewatch.

April 9Apr 9 A show that my my wife and I liked (and she loves Colin from Accounts) that seems to have a similar vibe is Starstruck on Max and I don't know anyone that has watched it. Caveat, I haven't seen season three but wife and reddit appeared to hate it.

St. Denis Medical is pretty funny. We just started Resident Alien the other day (I think based on a recommendation here, but not positive - kind of annoyed that I can't remember how I learned of it...) and while it's longer than 30 minutes, it's funny and doesn't seem to have much publicity.
April 11Apr 11 I really enjoyed The Other Two from a few years back. It’s on Max. About the two older siblings of a Justin Bieber type kid trying to navigate their own lives/failures. Really funny with some more serious moments that are well earned. Molly Shannon as the mom was really good.Starstruck was a lot of fun too.
April 11Apr 11 Loving Collin from Accounts on recommendation from this thread. I loved the Other Two. The main actress was from one of my favorite High Maintenance episodes, so I was very happy to see her getting more work. I would recommend it universally, but it does have some very specifically targeted humor at times. Would also recommend Search Party (now on Max). It takes you on quite the ride.
April 11Apr 11 i know i've pimped these before, and maybe they're more widely watched than i think, but here are a few of my favorite 30 minute shows from the last decade: Derry Girl. maybe the best pilot episode of any show i've seen. this is on Netflix. Girls5eva. yeah, it's about a girl group. but it's hysterical. great writing. it started on Peacock but now Netflix has it. Edited April 11Apr 11 by Jive Turkey
April 11Apr 11 can't forget about Detectorists. not sure where this is streaming. maybe Amazon Prime? Edited April 11Apr 11 by Jive Turkey
April 11Apr 11 Derry Girls is great. After Life with Ricky Gervais is a surprising wonderful and touching show.

April 12Apr 12 I feel like there are many shows like this that I’m not watching. Mostly because I have like 12 streaming services and half the time I need to watch’em all.

"It's like 'When Harry Met Sally." "Who are Harry and Sally? Friends of yours?" we've had similar conversations. 😂
April 13Apr 13 oh, and Colin From Accounts was officially renewed for season 3 a few days ago. number of streams on Paramount Plus has been very strong. https://screenrant.com/colin-from-accounts-season-3-explained/
