August 25Aug 25 Seeing 69 forecasted for the low a week out with a high in the mid 80s. Maybe we’re getting there. After decent mornings, the 10a and in had been brutal. Finished up a new coop so we can separate our ayam coma cemanis from the rest but was sure I was going to heat stroke out.

Lasts 24-36 hours then goes back to being hot. Granted, hot this year hasn't been as bad as the previous two years so not too worried about whatever follows fake fall this year.

August 25Aug 25 Was high 90's yesterday but very low humidity by Houston standards so actually a pretty nice day.
August 25Aug 25 Took a walk this morning in the nature preserve across from our neighborhood. I shit you not... 70 degrees, dry and a slightly chilly breeze. Double-checked that today is August 25th.
August 25Aug 25 Looking possible that we get that our first Fall Head-Fake front rolling through on Saturday, which would provide for a rather mild start to September. Think highs and lows more in the 90/74 range than 97/78.
August 25Aug 25 Who the fuck knows what's going to happen. One weather service has high 90's for this week another one has mid 90's and a third has low 90's / high 80's. Get your shit together.
August 27Aug 27 Author So far, it's looking real good. Beginning Saturday, not a day in the forecast over 90 for a week, although that Saturday "real feel" with high humidity is a bit rare for this neck of the woods. Most of us will be inside all day watching THE game and all the others, so whatever.

Sucked to come back, but it was a nice respite despite this summer not being so bad. Regardless, any break is appreciated.
August 27Aug 27 Humidity has kicked in to gear several days over the last week making some relatively decent temperatures (for this time of year) feel kind of gross. I'll still take it over 2022 and 2023 summers any time.
August 28Aug 28 The Climate Prediction Center released their three-month seasonal outlook and it calls for the drier-than-normal pattern that most of us felt in August to continue in the autumn. The outlook for fall is a return to a warmer and drier pattern here in Central Texas.

September 2Sep 2 Weather dude on the TVs last week was talking about lower humidity levels early this week. Reports of lower humidity have been greatly exaggerated. It was pretty damn soupy this morning, but it was ~5 deg cooler soup.
September 2Sep 2 Fucking dry and cool with a light north breeze in Georgetown this morning for my walk. Beautiful out.

September 3Sep 3 Forecast for next Monday is partly cloudy with a high of 80. In Austin, Tx. In early September. impossible.
September 4Sep 4 1 hour ago, HenryJames said: The morning is nice. Yup, it felt almost brisk during my run. Not actually, but almost.
September 4Sep 4 Very surprised this morning. Temp was about five degrees cooler than usual and humidity was way down compared to yesterday. I wasn't covered in condensation from the 20 ft walk from my back door to the car for the first time in a while.
September 4Sep 4 The low humidity this morning made for a very pleasant walk with the dogs. Unfortunately, that same low humidity will allow for extremely efficient heating this afternoon and it's going to be damn near 100 at 4 pm, just in time for me to go stand out in a dove field. The duality of early September weather in Texas.

September 4Sep 4 It appears we'll settle into a consistently steady pattern of warm, dry, sunny days next week. Daytime highs in the mid-90's, but pleasant mornings and evenings with low humidity. It ain't gonna feel like Fall, but it ain't blastfurnace.
September 8Sep 8 Today and tomorrow look glorious. High 80's and 60's with low humidity. Enjoy these next 48 hours as much as possible before it warms back up a bit. Extended forecast is basically copy/paste starting Wednesday through the following weekend. High's in mid-90's, lows in low 70's, very little chance of rain. September 8Sep 8 The temperature at Saturday’s football game was damn pleasant compared to the usual home opener. Probably won’t be as lucky this Saturday.

September 8Sep 8 45 minutes ago, Deej said: Fuck these bullshit 80's. When is the high going to be in the 60's? Uhh, late November, maybe. First time visiting Texas? To be more precise, the average high stays below 70 from 11/25 thru 2/23 (data for Houston). Edited September 8Sep 8 by Storm the Field

September 8Sep 8 30 minutes ago, Deej said: I bet those averages have gone up over the last 20 years. Of course they have. But not by 20 degrees or something. Central Texas has always been hot as fuck and dry as fuck. Acting like that's something new is silly. For anyone who seriously wants consistent highs in the 60s in September, I'll just say that Texas is not the place for you, and it never has been.
September 8Sep 8 I've spent the last 4 summers by spending weeks to a month at elevation in Colorado. Fuck how long Texas summers last. It's been mid 70s - mid 50s for the majority of the month I've been here. It's definitely nice having a choice in how I deal with the heat. I dread going back in a week to 90 degree highs.
September 8Sep 8 My wife and I got married in late September here in Austin, and the weather was phenomenal. Way more years than not Mother Nature repeats herself. It doesn't need to be in the 60s to be glorious.
September 8Sep 8 1 hour ago, Deej said: I've live in Texas long enough I remember freezing temps by Halloween. Generally speaking, the rule is snow could happen from Halloween to Easter, but 2 years ago, we had snow on Oct 14 or so in Amarillo. This summer was amazingly mild, and last week was awesome with 2 days with highs in the 70's. The 90's are creeping back into the highs for Tue-Wed-Thu this week; but then we appear to be headed for more autumnal lows in the 50's on the 10 day forecast. Love this time of the year, especially October. Hopeful the blastfurnace is done after this week!

Two days in fall and two more in spring.
September 9Sep 9 I’m setting the over/under on number of people wearing fleece pullovers at my office today at six.
