Ant in the finals woukd be awesome. He is still very young and has a chance to be a big part of league marketing for the next decade.

His kids will watch so that's a big boost

Goddamn fucking ratings bullshit. They just signed a humungous deal. The only people who give a shit about the ratings now work for ESPN, have a room temperature IQ, and hail from the golden triangle. Just enjoy the fucking game and stop worrying about who is watching it.

Of course a Spurs fan is saying ratings don't matter

Unless I’m a billionaire, NBA owner or a media tycoon, they don’t. I’m taking donations though, if anyone wants to help me reach those heights.

Me watching the Finals versus a lot of folks watching the Finals is real different.

No, a Minny Pacers series would not draw numbers. What’re the WCF numbers now with no Warriors Lakers or any Texas team?

Why are you including the Texas teams with GSW and LA.  Nobody cares about them outside of Texas.

Because there are a fuckload of people in Texas?

Is anybody gonna give a shit about golden state once Steph retires in the next year or 2?

So who gives a shit about ratings? I’ll watch no matter who’s playing. I don’t care if any LeBron or curry Stans are watching either

Your team is getting historically low ratings

Many people consume NBA content outside of watching games. Ratings are not nearly as important as they were 20 years ago.

Breen, Jefferson and Burke have no chemistry. Obviously it's hard to build chemistry in less than a year -- and that is an understatement -- but you don't even get a sense that they *could* gel over time. It just feels like three people talking, occasionally to each other.
The loss of mark Jackson and vangundy has left a gaping hole in the broadcast.Chemistry isn't easy https://t.co/kNekmbQmhc

You can make the case that the current crew sucks ass. What you cannot do, and expect anyone take you seriously, is suggest that Mark Jackson and his penile lookalike are in any way missed. The only gaping hole is Revisionist History’s vagina.

I'm probably an army of one but I didn't mind JVG on the broadcast - I thought he was amusing ("their defense is so bad it's envious of the Maginot Line") and unafraid to criticize.

Jackson though was useless and can stay gone.

OKC just has too many fucking players, man. It's crazy they let Denver take them 7 games.

I don’t know what I was expecting from Holmgren when he came into the league but, he has the chance to be something special for a long time.

Holmgren drives me bonkers. There are times out there he looks like he's trying to learn how to ice skate.

getting the assist while laying in the floor between his opponents legs is pretty iconic. it’s the kind of play that 25-30 years ago would have had me looking for a great photo of it in the next issue of SI.

#2783

I did not have Indiana anywhere close to my Eastern conference champ.

And OKC was a couple two or three rungs down the ladder for my Western conference champ.

Both teams have one real superstar but also four-six really good guys.

Makes me think of the Detroit Pistons last championship where nobody was a real superstar.  Loved that!

#2787

that last play has the be a bounce pass to a shooter who’s running towards the basket, even if it’s behind half court. the lob from there has a 0.00% chance of working.

#2790

OKC is impossible to beat when they shoot the ball like that and get the 7 extra possessions they got. Minny left everything on the court and it wasn't enough.

Don't think G5 will be close but we shall see.

Ant didn't do enough

Rudy also sucks

He and Randle could have been better but OKC wanted to force the other guys to beat them and they almost did. McDaniels, NAW and DDV had 66.

Minny beats 28 teams in the league tonight they were just playing the 1 that wasn't going to lose.

Man, if you told me 3 hours ago that McDaniels, Naz, NAW, and Dante were going to combine to shoot 28-45 (14-24), I'd have said they cruise to a 30 point win.

if they also would've told you that Randle and ant combined for 21 pts on 6-20, youd say OKC by 300

OKC missed 3 shots in the final 9 min i saw. just insane shot making-a lot weren't easy shots...under pressure. JDub played about as well as ive seen him, especially going 6-9 from 3.

I mean, that's the point. A semi-decent game from ANT or Randle and Minnesota wins. You can usually count on one crazy bench/role player outburst game in a 7 game series (usually at home), but you can't fucking waste it. That one had to hurt.

The entire game seemed to runs where OKC got up +9 and then Minny made a run to get -2 or tied and then cycle repeat.  Both teams just hit some shots.

I'd agree that with those bench guys playing like that Minny should win easily.  OKC just put everything on Ant and made the other guys beat them and that's a good bet for them.
