Called it during the game. 13 hours ago, ztejas said: I like how they are acting like Minny is having some crazy, unsubstantiated night from 3. LA isn't defending fucking anything. All of these looks are in rhythm without disruption. They obviously won the Luka trade but I wasn't sold on them this season because I thought their perimeter D and rim protection was going to be ass. It's looking like it here.

So you can get in 4 games on a Saturday and 4 on a Sunday, but only 2 on Monday and 3 on Tuesday (with NBATV). So some teams get extra days off

April 20Apr 20 Speaking of doors getting blown off - I'm gonna be shocked if Memphis keeps this within 20.
April 20Apr 20 I wanted to say "within 30" but thought that was too much. Should have gone with my gut.

April 20Apr 20 And SGA is just 1-6. I'll stick with my prediction that OKC loses no more than three games on their way to the FInals.
April 20Apr 20 "Memphis certainly has the firepower to make up a 29 point deficit" You don't have to fish for viewers, Pasch. We're loving the ass-beating.

After the way LAC played yesterday I don't see the 4/5 taking more than a game off of them. Minny looks like their only threat (granted it's very early - we'll see what develops). OKC/Cavs Finals would be very fun.

I don't know about 3 games, but I doubt anyone gives them much opposition. Too much talented depth. Setting the all time point differential record for a season wasn't an accident.
April 20Apr 20 Every time I’ve tuned into a Thunder game this year they’ve been up 15 or more. I know Memphis isn’t that good but this is crazy impressive to start the playoffs.

They've been playing too mediocre-ly over the past 6 weeks for me to feel confident. If/when the Cavs lose in the playoffs, it'll be because one or both of the two issues that have reared their ugly head for the Cavs over this period: 3 point shooting (particularly from Garland/Mitchell) Defensive rebounding

Setting the all time point differential record for a season wasn't an accident. It's going to hinge on Shai, imo. If he matches what a Jokic or Ant or Tatum gives him you can schedule the parade now. But I'm not sure he does that. Still a pretty inexperienced star. Granted, they don't necessarily need him to do that.

Think the East is sneaky deep. Whoever wins the 3/6 and 4/5s aren't going to be pushovers.
April 20Apr 20 That's a borderline flagrant from Ja. I'd be careful. He may come air this bitch out after half.
April 20Apr 20 It's just disgusting that OKC (68 win team) has this kind of draft capital for the rest of the decade: 2025: Oklahoma City first-round pick Houston or LA first-round pick Miami lottery-protected first-round pick Philadelphia top-six protected first-round pick Atlanta top 31-40 protected second-round pick 2026: Oklahoma City first-round pick Oklahoma City second-round pick Dallas or Philadelphia second-round pick 2027: Oklahoma City first-round pick Denver top-five protected first-round pick LA first-round pick swap Oklahoma City second-round pick Houston or Indiana or Miami second-round pick 2028: Oklahoma City first-round pick Dallas first-round pick swap Oklahoma City second-round pick Milwaukee second-round pick Utah second-round pick 2029: Oklahoma City first-round pick Denver top-five protected first-round pick Oklahoma City second-round pick Atlanta second-round pick Boston second-round pick Houston second-round pick Miami second-round pick

April 20Apr 20 Memphis has some tough choices to make this offseason. JJJ is eligible for an extension this offseason, which would put Memphis way over the cap for the next several years. If he wins DPOY, that extension would be 5 years, $345 million. But what is the ceiling for a Morant-Bane-JJJ led team? Morant's game (which relies so much on his athleticism) is also not likely to age very well.
