One of my Dallas uncles offered to buy everyone tickets if we came up for a game so me and my oldest brother are going to drive up from Austin for game 5. (assuming no one gets swept)

Never been to a playoff hockey game. Looking forward to it.

Let me know if there's a last-minute cancellation. ;)

Seriously though, you'll have a blast. Playoff hockey is the best hockey.

Five of the top six Stars are our Finns. That chart also says that Duchene is playing well but just not putting the puck in the net. Hopefully, that dam breaks soon!

These two posts have me questioning myself about whether I know how to read.

Do you even Aleister Crowley bro?

I mean, the article you fucking quoted clearly states that too.

According to a statement posted to Moroch’s X account, the reason #BANG guy hasn’t been at Stars games this season has nothing to do with falling out of love with the team. Instead, his absence was caused by a “minor car accident” on Nov. 3. According to Moroch, when officers arrived at the scene, they identified Moroch as having an active warrant for a probation violation related to a previous DWI incident.

Dallas County criminal records show that Moroch failed to report to a parole officer in August and September last year, leading to the warrant. Moroch had been on parole after being arrested for a third DWI, a felony in Texas.

“Unaware of the warrant due to a communication breakdown caused by the unforeseen passing of his attorney, Nick was placed under arrest,” the statement says.

It adds that Moroch is serving a sentence at a correctional unit in Wilmer, Texas, and expects to be released in late May.

Moroch has been open with his social media following about his prior DWI arrests. Last November, he posted a photo of an “I Voted” sticker with the caption “monumental day today.”

“Today marks the culmination of a five-year sentence that ended today. Something that people take advantage of on a daily basis and think they’ll never get caught,” Moroch said. “I voted cause I finally can after five years. Drink…Drive…Go To Jail….or even worse.”

Yea, but the tweet LF68 was what I was referencing, not the article.  Reading is hard.

for the record, I was in no way trying to pump that guy up. let's just leave it at I didn't miss him, but happy to see he's ok

Edmonton fans are getting pissy about Game 3’s matinee start.

they're pissed about a 1pm local puck drop?

ai sez: "It's difficult to pinpoint an exact percentage of the Edmonton population that attends church every Sunday morning."

Gives those crazy Canucks less time to "get in the spirit." Plus, the bloggers are bemoaning their record is such matinee games. Oh well, them's the breaks. I seem to recall the Stars having some afternoon playoff games at AAC the past few years. If they'd played better in the regular season, maybe they could've amassed enough points to have home ice in this series but they didn't, so they don't.

if you're bored today and want some Stars content before the game, these interviews were very good. I really like the mutual admiration and trust between Nill and DeBoer.

a lot of people talking today about Rantanen's shade at Esa and his steak cooking (non) abilities

I'm sure neither team thrilled about it. That's a quick turnaround after a Friday night game with a long ass Saturday flight.    I assumed there was an NBA game after they were prioritizing, but looked it up and followed by a fucking WNBA game, so it is some bullshit not to push it a couple of hours.   Oh well, gives their fans less time to get boozed up.

I'm sure TV wants it then for the time slot. I think Florida-Carolina play that night. The national network likely wants McDavid/Draisaitl.

(I do think it could give us an advantage in an environment that might be slightly less hostile than it otherwise might.)

NBA game that night but no hockey.   I would think 3PM or 3:30 Central would be prime afternoon spot to maximize ratings, but probably doesn't matter much.  Personally displeased as going to have to rush back from kids sports and might miss puck drop unless they do like a 20 minute pregame (which is probably the case so I may make it home in any event)

Oops you're right. No NHL overlap.

Do traditional Canadian hockey tv times factor into it at all?

All I know about Canadian TV is "Hockey Night in Canada" on Saturday night so don't think there will be any more Saturday matinees scheduled going forward.  We got that window last Saturday obviously and will for game 6 (if necessary) as well.

Interested what Pete does with our lineup tonight.  I didn't see any reporting on that front from morning skate although have been a bit tied up today.  Did I miss?

my best bet is Back slides in and Lyubushkin comes out. think the extra size put him in over Blackwell. rolls 4 lines again and double shift Rantanen some, but maybe less than previous

another reason Nill should win GMOY again. number of players on the active roster drafted by each team in the conference finals:
FLA: 4
CAR: 5
EDM: 8
DAL: 11 😶

Who sits between Lyubushkin and Petro will be interesting.   Lyubushkin obviously started in regular season and has played more minutes than Petro but they may value Bischel comfort level playing with Petro.  However they decide tonight, I could see that toggle based on performance.

Their clocks are on the metric system, so that makes it more difficult.

So are y'all assuming we'll go back to 12-6 tonight rather than the 11-7 from the past three games or was something said?

Subban and Mess pick the Oilers to win series. Levy picks us. Let’s do this.

Think this is what we're getting

Just realized Wyatt is -13 in the playoffs. Woof.
