I which one of our players--say Kyle Porter-- would've died in the offseason from heat exhaustion. So at least I would know they were doing shit.

I have a message for our beloved sips in teatown.I want to tell them that I admire them. I admire the fact that they are better fans than we are. I admire them because they've been through so much the

now we get to here all about how gary johnson's ejection ruined the gameplan for herman. it will be the new "my top 3 tight ends were injured" excuse.

I said it would be a decade back then. It will be a bit longer

Johnson dove low with his shoulder at the head. That was an extremely obvious targeting

Guys, as an objective observer, let me give you a pep talk.

This is a difficult environment to open the season.  Maryland isn’t terrible, they know they’re not supposed to win this game, and they’re at home.  They’re going to play with reckless abandon.

Texas is rusty, all the pressure is on them, they’re on the road, far away from home, and the opponent doesn’t suck.

It’s not surprising Texas looks shitty but I think the horns will exhaust Maryland in the second half and pull away.   The key to a successful program in college ball is conditioning.  If you can out fatigue the opponent, you will win most of your games.

So give these boys 60 minutes of play before passing judgment. They deserve that much.

How dare you offer reasonable analysis on a gameday thread...

stop the money train $ to the coaches. Then you will see improvement.

Just shit in all aspects right now except special teams

God I didn’t think we’d be great but i also didn’t think we’d suck aggy dick

You can't script a Johnson ejection.  Cursed more than anything.

Not the ejection.  The whole game

I lol at you calling yourself objective.

Ok, there’s the 17 points I said Maryland would score (for the game). I’m right on track.

On a positive note, as horrible as we look on both offense and defense, we are only down by 10.

I’m gonna wait till the end of the third-quarter before I meltdown.

Lmao

Our defense is playing with attitude.

The attitude of a 5 year old that hasn't had a nap and has to do chores.

That targeting call was bullshit.

huh? no it wasn't. he speared his helmet directly into the QBs helmet as the QB fucking slid legs first. thats a personal foul in all levels of FB some 20 years ago, not just targeting now

Probably right but let me have my moment of panic.

10 points behind.

really not sure this team has the ability to overcome a 10 point deficit unless  we get 3 defensive TDs

I’m surprised we’re even still in this game. Feels like we’re getting destroyed.

They had 181 yards of offense after the first quarter. We are getting fucking destroyed, by MARYLAND

Holding them to a FG seems like a victory.

Just run 48 seconds off the clock and then punt

Offense is impotent. Defense is out of position and slow.

My orange KoolAid has a bit of  a wang to it. And it's not good.

Your move offense...

This. We can’t coach for shit.

Can’t put fatigue a team going 3 and out all game

You realize this is Surly, right?

Worked for Charlie, too, when he replaced Watson after a full season plus one.

If tom doesnt demote beck after this game, he’s WORSE than charlie.

Think about that.

WORSE than strong.

That was an obvious targeting. Not a dirty play but you don't lay into a sliding qb.

Well at least he won’t get hurt

That's the crux of it. A qb running at him, he has to be prepared to take him down by going low, to avoid a penalty for taking him down too high. That is momentum you can't stop and then the qb slides.
