Houston was amazing and clutch. But baseball has advanced. What Volantis is doing is fucking dirty magic. I really don't think we have had a better pitched in the last 20+ years.

Taylor Jumgmann?

Volantis and Jungmann are quite a lit like. They know their zone and they know where a batters likes his pitches.

Volantis, if healthy, for the next 2 years, will be a top 20 pick. He's special. Like, really, really special.

I know we all like to bag on the Aggies but that is a good team.  They've held Texas to 5 in two games.  We had some production from unlikely sources this series.  Absent Mendoza and Farmer in last two games this is a different series.

We don’t do that here

Jungmann and Madden certainly were better but that doesn’t change how good DV has been.

Glad A-Rpd is back in RF. We need Mendoza to get healthy, and Beyleu to come back and dominate ou.

A loss tomorrow would make Aggy 24-19 overall and 8-13 in the conference, that's got to be getting near the borderline.

They are in 12th place in the SEC, right now.

LSU or Georgia could sweep them, it's not impossible for them Aggy their way out of the tournament.

If they get to 12 wins in conference they are 100% in. 13 and they likely get a 2 seed

Always a conspiracy.

Not a conspiracy, but I thought that that last pitch was definitely outside. That said, it’s fun to ring up a batter to end a game after the Top of the 9th for the home team in front of a fairly packed crowd.

Florida in 13th place in the SEC is only one game behind Aggy in the SEC standings and a much better overall record.

Jungmann is a good reference point. But I'm not sure I've ever seen a pitcher utterly befuddle batters the way Volantis does. When he is on, batters cannot make contact.

I'm still bitter about that LSU series. Fucking should have won game one so that Jungmann's game 2 would have gone down in CWS history.

I concur. I just referenced Jungmann because he was the closest to Volantis. In a year Volantis will be dragging pussy around Austin with some falling out of his pockets. He's a fucking dude.

But, Jungmann, much like Volantis, has that calm demeanor where they know the strike zone and where to put it on point. I do believe right now, Volantis is a more special player. That's not a knock on. Jungmann did take us to the CWS where weost to LSU, but he was a freak, too.

I'm not being facetious, I truly believe Schloss will bring us a championship. He's at his dream job, we're a blue blodd, kids want to play for a winning program. We already have the #1 class coming in, I believe. We are set. We have some ballers ready to roll.

About as well as they ever take a loss.

Also, Gavin Kash can sit down next to Lincoln Riley, at a well appointed table, and EABOD.  That is all.

Old Gavin Gash.  He is such a snowflake.

CSB, I got to watch my son strike out Gash in HS playoffs when Gash was sr vs. my son as a jr.   That was fun.

If you are Caden Sorrell or Grahovac, how can you have any confidence that your coaches are going to maximize you in your draft year after next year seeing what is happening to Kash, Laviolette, Kent, etc.

I forgot Hayden Schott was even on that team and the dude lead the team in batting average and hits last year. He isn’t even a starter this year he has been hitting so poorly.

Jungmann was a monster. That’s the best guy I’ve ever faced. It didn’t go well for me obviously

Yeah what Jungmann did starting as a freshman was incredible.  No offense to DV, but it's a lot harder to do it in 7-9 inning starts than in 3-4 innings a weekend spread over 2 games.

Can we normalize calling him "Gash?"

If somehow they win tomorrow by more than three runs, you KNOW these goobers will put the run differential on the wall.

No one will give a fuck but them, which is my point.

I cant even imagine how much money we are going to have to pay to keep Volantis next year.

$5m is probably not eough.

Those are some of the milder comments from bitter aggy losers there

They are a very good team. They are very talented. They were preseason #1 for a reason.

But they are losers. I had zero doubt we would win this series. I fully expect tomorrow's game to be close, but for us to win.

It would be really nice if Max Weiner took the Kirk Saarloos route and stayed under Jim’s wing for a while. I don’t think there is anyone better at calling a game in college baseball right now than him. The confidence he instills in guys with how he carries himself is second to none. Pretty incredible what he has done with Luke Harrison. Cody Howard is another arm that he has made useable and Cody could have just as easily not even made this roster.

Will be interesting to see how hands off he is able to be with the pitching side if/when he does become a HC. Guys like him that are really good generally have a hard time releasing the reigns to someone else (looking at you Pierce)

I'm actually surprised these first two games have been close.  I expected the whole aggy outrage culture to have them completely psyched out.  Our pitching has shut them down but I expected to see more blow ups like we've seen from their pitching staff all year.  Guess the bats can still break out tomorrow.

I expect the top of our order to get more production tomorrow. I think we get the sweep by more than 2 runs and send them back to the scrub brush with a broom sticking out of their collective ass.

They are a pretty good club against these teams that major in nothing but gas.   Throw them a shit ton of curve balls for strikes and all of a sudden they have a hard time.

Yeah that dude was on another level. Batters were scared walking up to the player. Absolute money. Damn he was great. I never thought we would see someone of that caliber again, but Schloss and co tearing out USC's heart and getting Volantis was huge. None of us knew that kid was like some kind of prodigy. It's nuts, man. Jungmann is the only Longhorn I can compare him to, and that is rare air. And to think he still has W years left. We gettim that NC not just for the team, but for Jungmann losing to LSU. I was at that game and the sadness is still with me.

Schloss has done unimaginable damage to Aggy psyche.

Taking a job at another school is an unclassy thing to do? That is the worst thing a human being can do? Get offered a job at another place and take that job?

Well then they should feel bad for hiring our hitting coach. The worst type of people.

I remember this play happening last year between Kash and Gasparino but what is weird is generally you will see the runner try and avoid the 1st baseman. I know Kash catches the ball and drifts into the baseline but it still isn’t often you see a runner just obliterate the 1st baseman in situations like this. I feel like there is even more to it than this play last year.
