October 24, 20223 yr Colin Cowherd still convinced Irsay decided the Sam move and should have stuck with Wentz and that Sam is just a backup. But then he’s Russell Wilson homer…so how’s that working out Colin?
October 24, 20223 yr The Indianapolis Colts will start Sam Ehlinger at quarterback for the remainder of the season, coach Frank Reich announced Monday. Quarterback Matt Ryan, who started the Colts' first seven games, has a Grade 2 separation of his shoulder but Reich said the move isn't being made because of injury. "Right now the move is for Sam to be the starter for the rest of the season," Reich said, according to the team's website. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/34870574/colts-bench-qb-matt-ryan-start-sam-ehlinger-rest-way Edited October 24, 20223 yr by Michael Knight
October 24, 20223 yr Who was the last non-Colt Longhorn to start an NFL game at QB? Was it really Vince? Unless Gilbert got a start somewhere, he’s been around forever.

October 24, 20223 yr We all know he will run the ball some. Just don’t over-do it, Sam, and you’ll do fine.
October 24, 20223 yr Popular Post McAfee so excited (he gets excited a lot)…he started talking about Sam’s ass and thighs being massive… McAfee’s reaction is great.

I mean - that said - Ryan did throw almost 4,000 yards last season. On top of a blistering 20/12 TD/INT, 6.8 AYA and 46.1 QBR. Unless Gilbert got a start somewhere, he’s been around forever.Gilbert has started a couple games here and there. He’s stuck as a backup for a while.I was on record saying that Sam would be a career backup and never start a game that wasn’t due to injury or tanking. Regardless of what happens from here on, respect the dedication to his craft. Rooting for him.
October 24, 20223 yr More from McAfee: Rappaport saying basically it makes sense from a football perspective. Sam has moxy and it’s the most important trait…so fucking awesome. Of course McAfee ends it with it’s an exciting time and Colts are going to the Super Bowl. Awesome (just paraphrased it mostly in case people can’t watch): We gotta to do a surly Colts watch party if Sam plays well…he’s got ten games. Matt Ryan also has grade 2 shoulder separation so they won’t switch back to Ryan and we saw Sam beat out Foles for the number 2 slot last week…don’t get hurt Sam and show them what you got! Just win baby!

October 24, 20223 yr Just got a weather update calling for localized flooding in and around Chones valley. Everyone, be careful out there. Don’t drown, turn around.

To Colin’s credit his advice to people getting into the business he’s in: you don’t have to be right just be interesting. So there is some truth to part of that. Lol. Sam is the big story on all the sports stuff this afternoon. So awesome. How he proves all the haters wrong.
October 24, 20223 yr Ever since Luck retired unexpectedly a few years back, they have been throwing darts at a board and none of them worked out. Rivers, Wentz, Ryan, Brissett. No idea why they brought in Ryan. He's beyond washed. Good for Sam. That division is still wide open.

Sam was a leader and winner. The fact that not even having an elite QB did much for us, outside of 2018, said a ton about the state of the program. Especially as we heard for years we just needed an elite QB again. Nope. Problems run deeper than that.
