Looked like he cut his hand and touched his face after, making it look like his nose was bleeding too. People are saying it was a shoulder injury but I didn’t notice that at all. Would be shocked if he’s not in by the next drive.

Im shocked. Regardless he won’t be out for long, the refs are the ones that made him leave and aside from the blood he didn’t look hurt at all.

Well he’s not. Does the ncaa require cuts on hands to be cleaned up?  Probably so. Assuming so, I bet they’re trying to figure out how to stitch and cover and allow him to throw. But, we are fucked until he’s back.

#1954

Cut on that throwing hand will be a bitch to get a handle on. Might take a while. Buchele is plenty capable of beating Baylor but hopefully Sam makes it back, at least after halftime.

I hope all those Shane-lovers get proven right the next few hours.

you must be a CR'er with this binary tribalism.  it was proven over sam and shane's first 300 in-game attempts that shane is a better thrower, though far more fragile, and sam is a tougher player and better runner.

in the first 3 games this season, sam's throwing was suspect.  it was 57%.  hence some people wanted to see if shane could improve the play under the better protection.

this isnt hatfields vs mccoys or montagues vs capulets

Shane shouldn't have to do anything to win this game, just manage it. Fuck I hope Sam is alright. We should be able to beat Baylor without him and let him rest, though.

#1960

He’s definitely not concussed given the headset. Most likely scenario is that his shoulder/hand is dinged up slightly. He could come back in to play but UT could put a walk-on back there and still beat Baylor by 2 scores. May as well sit him the rest of the game & give him the bye week to recover too.

With all due respect, you’re a fucking moron. Shane isn’t improving the stellar QB play.

with no respect, are you dense?

nobody's criticized sam's recent play.  his critiques came off his shoddy first 3 games of the season.  maybe you need a refresher of how he did in his first 2 series vs maryland to make a comparison.

Which shoulder hurt for SAM?

Throwing.

Damn Shane looks like complete shit out there. Guess being the better thrower doesn't help when you squeeze the ball for way way way too long then throw to the sideline on the run.

Without sam, we look like last year's team

We need to abandon the zone read and run the ball out of a normal formation.  The know Shane isn’t running the ball or at least not running it well.

Yeah OR just put in a competent QB. Rising and Thompson are probably ready.

Hope I’m wrong but I think he has a separated shoulder. His arm looked to be hanging weirdly when they showed him on the TD pass

#1977

They would already know if it was a seperated shoulder.  Fact they want to re-evaluate at half time seems to indicate a sting or pinched nerve. Pray that we can ride Shane to the finish and use the bye to get Sam back in shape.

The way Ehlinger's right arm is hanging down worries me.  This looks like it could be a while.

Yeah, that didn’t look good.

If it was separated wouldn’t they reset it? If they reset it why put his pads back on? Probably talking out my ass here.

#1982

Maybe or they put in a nerve block. He was flexing the arm going into the locker room

You’re not. If it was separated they would’ve known during that long evaluation period, reset it, and the pads would be off, particularly with a throwing shoulder. It’s not separated.

Maybe. I just had rotator cuff surgery a few weeks ago. That nerve block was awesome. Didn’t feel anything.

Nor it is it Simms vs Applewhite.

Shane has been making some great throws on some slants. Thank God he is playing competent.

This team''s success depends on Sam''s health. I appreciate having Shane as a backup, but it isn't enough to maintain our season.

#1997

Get well soon Sam....now maybe the play Shane honks will stfu about playing him over Sam....

I don’t appreciate him as a backup. He was incompetent for large stretches today. The faster he transfers and the staff doesn’t have him at our disposal, the better. We need someone capable of running Herman’s O and he is most certainly not it. He shouldn’t be the backup. He nearly cost us the game today.
