There was a pass behind Smith that would have been a big td.

I remember two, one across the middle where he was wide open and one downfield (near the endzone) which was almost intercepted because he didn’t put it in front of Smith.

The one in the middle to Smith was a TD-in-waiting. Looked like one LJ woulda caught, but Jake isn't used to being called upon to have an absurd catch radius... yet. It'll happen, and instead of LJ's 10-15 YAC, we'll see six points more often.

That’s not new at all

While he’s turned into a good to very good overall college qb, his release and zip on quick hitters/screens are keeping the offense from maxing out. Seems like the ball takes about a half count too long get to the receiver giving the D a step. Could be that alignment/spacing isn’t helping, but we now have playmakers outside that only need that one step on the D.

There was a throw to to the bottom of the screen that seemed to take forever. I know it was a long throw though.

This will be received poorly by more than one fanbase out east 😂

Smith needs to get better at adjusting to the ball so the defender can't make a play on it.

He did well to break up the INT on one of them though.

Did Sam get concussed yesterday on that play where his helmet came off?

Nope. Got some turf pellets in his eyes is all.

Wasn’t he sprinting on a crossing route and had a dart thrown behind him? There’s not exactly time to adjust in that situation.

I like his attitude.

Excellent. Free bulletin board material. Sam always plays better a little pissed off with something to prove.

Chaisson’s first mistake was leaving Texas to go play for fucking LSU. His second mistake was giving Sam a reason to play pissed off.

Youre thinking of the wrong pass. Smith was wide open on the on I’m thinking of.

Yeah.

All I know is that the OL is going to talk shit to Chaisson when Sam trucks him for his third rushing TD.

I sure as shit am not betting against this kid. Kind of hits you that there is someone else out there beating the odds through adversity. Puts a lot of perspective in your life that it could be worse. This guy is a beast.

Yes, it was one of the only RPO plays Texas ran. Sam has to hit that play going forward. It was set up nicely for a TD with Smith already in full stride.

I am glad Chaisson said that. He is doing us a favor.

Not a shot at K’Lavon Chaisson but Sam’s got chunks of better defenders than he is in his stool.

It won’t matter. If anyone on our team needs some weak trash talk to get up for this game, then they shouldn’t be playing college football. We’re ready

Trill Sammy is a somewhat new, somewhat well known rapper out of Houston for those unaware. It’s hip yo.

Do people really call him that?

I have never once heard Sam called "Johnny Longhorn".  WTF?  That's just stupid.

Johnny Longhorn!

No..?

OK, Sammy Football!

How about Go Fuck Yourself Bitch.

Jonathan Vilma on CFB Live today, claiming Sam isn't a big game player:

This take will not age well. Is there any way to insert it into the first three pages of this thread?

Maryland was a big game? I guess if the big games are the ones you lose.

Sugar Bowl and OU, tiny games. Maryland, big game.

Does ESPN have a concussion protocol?
