April 27Apr 27 Pasting here to juice discussion, but be warned, it has Micah Hudson at number 1. https://247sports.com/longformarticle/2025-college-football-transfer-portal-top-10-uncommitted-players-after-spring-window-249345492/
April 27Apr 27 I find it hilarious that transfer portal rankings are mostly based on high school star ratings. A five star totally bombs out of two schools already but because he had five stars he must be the best.Â

All hail Sark and the money that made hay when there was more than chaff in the field.

April 27Apr 27 My God if this is No. 3 on that list, I’d hate to see No.4 or lower: Quote He started the final three games of the season at left guard but struggled with multiple injuries and inconsistent play. His PFF grade of 42.6 was the lowest among all Power Four offensive guards. Â

About the WR part. Not the nutting stuff. So someone who has already graduated, but opted to return to school as opposed to entering the draft. And someone who presumably doesn’t suck. There can’t be that many WRs that fit that description.

April 27Apr 27 I read that Rashada has been enrolled in 8 combined high schools and colleges. Â He must be going for some kind of record.Â
April 27Apr 27 Isn’t Sac Staten offering good NIL packages to try to move up to D1/Hail Mary themselves into the new PAC?Â

April 28Apr 28 I just skimmed through the top 50 guys in receiving yards from last season. That's everyone with 884 yards or more. These are the only ones that make any sense at all as a potential target (i.e., didn't just get drafted/UDFA and didn't already transfer to a big time program this cycle): Jordyn Tyson, Arizona St - This one would be fucking insane. He's getting talked about as a 1st round draft pick for 2026. Originally from Allen, so there's a connection to the state. Has only been in college 3 years (and already transferred once), so is it possible for him to have already graduated? That seems kinda doubtful. Corey Rucker, Arkansas St - Strange career so far. Did well at Arkansas St for two years, transferred to South Carolina for 2022, did nothing (think he was hurt), transferred back to Arkansas St and tore it up the past two years. Has previously announced that he was skipping the draft and returning to Ark St. Definitely could be a graduate - he's already played 5 years (redshirt + COVID). Ted Hurst, Georgia State - Actually was in the portal (not a grad transfer?), but there was a report that he pulled out of the portal just yesterday. Was getting interest from big time programs (including aggy), per Google. Something doesn't seem right, here. Junior Vandeross III, Toledo - Productive for Toledo the last two years, but a 3-year guy like Tyson. Seems pretty unlikely to have already graduated. Elijah Sarratt, Indiana - Tore it up at FCS St. Francis, then James Madison, then Indiana in 3 successive years. Looking for a 4th program in 4 years? Antonio Williams, Clemson - 4th year guy out of Clemson, already speculated on in this thread. Trent Walker, Oregon State - Former walk-on at OSU that blew up in 2024. Doesn't really seem to fit the profile very well. Giles Jackson, Washington - I'm about 98% sure that this guy is out of eligibility and declared for the draft, but I can't find any record of him signing as an UDFA at the moment Of course, there are helluva lot of really promising WR that had <884 yards last year, so this is kinda a pointless exercise.

April 29Apr 29 1 hour ago, DigglerontheHoof said: So what's the deal w/ habitual portal dudes? Are they just looking for $50/100K deals or is this simply about playing time? 100K is a lot more money than most college kids get coming out of school and an athlete's expenses are a lot less than recent graduates. So if you get 5 paydays, basically you can get out of school with a $500K bank account provided you are smart with your money and don't spend it on hookers and blow.
April 29Apr 29 1 hour ago, DigglerontheHoof said: So what's the deal w/ habitual portal dudes? Are they just looking for $50/100K deals or is this simply about playing time? I'm gonna guess that some of the guys that start portaling become 100% transactional, seeking more time or a bigger bag or the best combination of the two. I kind of doubt that most of them are seeking entirely the bag because their egos make them believe they deserve all the starts and playing time, which is why they deserve the bag. Others retain some concept of team loyalty and earning their playing time.

I could be wrong, but as noted above, although they're transactional, I think very few have egos that let them go 100% financial. Or the brains, probably.
April 29Apr 29 I think we're projecting on a group of people we don't know, who all could very well have different reasons for what they do, even different depending on which transfer we're talking about. I mean, that's what message boards are for. One thing that sucks about the internet is I used to engage in guy talk around facts that none of us in a group knew the answer to, which meant the conversation could go around in circles forever without any of us knowing the answer. Fucking Google cuts that shit short real quick. But subjective things we can't possibly know the right answer to? Bring that shit on!

It is this or working in the real world. If he has some snap & personality, he will be in a corporate sales/marketing role. If not, he will be slinging packages in a UPS warehouse. Would you rather do that or be the BMOC and bang 19 year old ladies?
