6th street is the source, you better just go ahead and take that one to the bank.

So Bobby made a comment in today’s coffee and football that guys like Smith, Filsame, Phillips, Zina, Terry, maybe I missed another name or two are taking the next steps in practice.  Then he said he would be shocked if 1-2 of those didn’t leak into the portal.  Thought it was interesting.

We are basically staring our second string defense against Michigan in the bowl game. On one hand that will be good for 26 so we can get clarity on who is likely to be the most ready but on the other hand the bowl game might not be that fun to watch when our defense is on the field.

Treat it as an early spring scrimmage.  Nothing to get upset about.  It's meaningless.

I'd rather be starting a second string defense than going through whatever the hell is happening in Ann Arbor currently.

10-3 vs 9-4 is meaningful to me for some stupid reason.

Running back seems like it could end up a premium NIL mercenary position. The position has been greatly devalued in the NFL but has retained far more of its importance in college despite similar rule changes (probably related to lower QB/WR skill levels, etc.). So these guys have much less to look forward to career earnings wise compared to the other skill positions  and every college carry seems to cost them money because of NFL scouts and analysts worrying about overuse.

A market inefficiency for the portal and recruiting has been that many schools are treating RB like they're an NFL org, yet the issues at RB aren't the same between CFB and the NFL. Who gives a shit if a guy can only take so many bullets? That's an NFL problem. Is that being addressed now by schools starting to go really big on RBs? Seems likely. Only so many schools can commit major money to QB, RB, WR, depth, and retention. The main market inefficiency exploitable at the moment is just having one of the biggest chip stacks. Corporate NIL is the other, I guess. This helps Texas at QB, where the corporate NIL side is pretty substantial.

If Texas lands Lacy or Baugh, to go with Cooper and retaining Wisner (we'll see on Wisner), they're flaunting their largesse for this cycle. That could be a $2M+ room.

Devil's advocate--we think that's true because the $9.95 guys are repeating it, and their source is the coaches...

I mean, I get the logic, but our LB and RB depth is pretty thin.

No, "we" don't think that's true because of anything $9.95ers are saying. I think it's true because it has been fucking true.

Handwringing over two positions that are being handled in both recruiting and the portal to address personnel mistakes and then decrying that as an example of retention issues is bizarre. "We" should be concerned about the mistakes that got Texas to the spot of being thin at LB in the first place, not blaming retention now. It's a byproduct of the stupidity of taking just 1-2 LBs in every cycle. At RB, I'm still somewhat fascinated that some posters here continue to worry over it. They'll have 5-7 guys in the RB room and multiple guys in the room will be high impact players for the 2026 season.

Found the clip - he said he "wouldn't be surprised if 1-2 leave". A little different than what you wrote.

Filsaime or Zina wouldn't shock me. The other three would and would be dick punches.

Also, Bobby said 90% Endries going pro.

We’ve got a 9.95-off on Endries. IT thinks he’s likely staying.

My favorite IT is when they are happy to die on a hill only to surrender to reality at the last minute…

I want us to compete and play well on offense. Arch needs to look good because there’s no excuse there. Defense we are just going to have to understand it’s like a spring game there.

What’s more confusing than her wording is your comprehension of it.

I don’t think this means anything, I think she’s just saying 2026 is going to be a big season for him with this schedule and heading to the draft after.

Either way there is no reason to parse player’s parents IG captions as official announcements.

It does help we are playing a 1980s offense. I am hoping Barnes has a big game.

Will be interesting to see who gets Baxter's touches in the bowl game between Simon and Clark. Whoever is on the short end can't feel good about their place on the depth chart entering 2026 if Wisner returns and we add a portal RB as expected.

Clark so far has shown nothing. But he does need more time to rehab. So maybe he eventually shows something.

Simon immediately showed a little something on the field but got yanked off and buried on the depth chart. I wonder why.

Simon redshirted.

Arch Manning's

I might be in the minority but I don't really care if we lose Endries.  He's a poor blocker and a solid receiver.  Nothing about his skill set seems irreplaceable by what we currently have on the roster.

Enjoyed his 93 yds receiving vs aggy.  He made them look pretty bad.

he also had one catch for 50 yards.  other than that hes been a nil drain all year.

To give Endries some credit, it felt like he was the primary victim of Arch throwing passes at open receivers' feet in the first half of the year.

Similar to DMo, Endries isn’t really a value add outside of his good hands and experience. They both require scheming to get their looks.
Both of the freshmen show greater potential.
I also somehow thought Washington was faster than he looked this year.

Yeah, he missed out on a lot of receiving yards because of bad throws.

i just dont think endries was ever a real target for the offense in most games.  he had 28 catches all year.

I did that earlier in the year and Endries had like a 70- 80% completion per target. Wingo was the one that Arch could not throw to. Wingo finished pretty ugly on the year. 50 catches, 91 targets, and  770 yards (8.5 per target)

Lot of that is also due to Wingo dropping passes, though.

By and large Endries was a sure-handed receiver.

I dont recall Arch having issues with Endries and/or Livingstone. First couple games Arch and Wingo just could not connect. It was either uncatchable or dropped.

That’s what I mean. The running back room was limited. Baxter wasn’t really getting it done. I’m unclear why they didn’t just burn his redshirt and have him spell Wisner.

The LDS church has over $250 billion dollars. If they want, they can just buy a title.

The church itself is not going to do that. But there are plenty of rich Mormons that like football and like it as an advertisement for the church. Kind of like Notre Dame and Irish Catholic identity but a bit more officially organized.

A more unified resolve, if you will.

We should want to keep him for a reasonable price. Not sure if he's worth paying a premium for, and I wonder how high he'd actually get drafted this year

Washington gained too much weight and lost a step. They need to slim him down a bit.
