Searched but may have missed thread...if so disregard.

Trailer dropped today. So in.

It has to be good. Supposedly, Jordan Peele tried to win the auction for the rights to the script and fired his management team after he lost it.

I’m in. Barbarian was very cool and this trailer looks good.

Agree.  I watched Barbarian w/o any prior knowledge and loved it.  This looks better.

Definitely In.

Horror and Super Hereos are the only movies that make money these days.

Josh Brolin's reflection in the monitor is a bit of a give-away.

Worst movie ever. Started out strong with high interest in what was to come. Then it's two hours and seventeen minutes of similar video and no dialogue! I don't mind vague endings that allow the viewer to draw different conclusions, but the ending sucked! Two hours and seventeen minutes I'll never get back. Two thumbs down!

I'm a sucker for children possessed by demons movies.

When did this become the de facto "scariest thing we can do in a movie" trope? Exorcist?

huge bidding war for the script? i'm in!

Yes, but I think Children of the Damned was the harbinger of this trope.

The pivot that Barbarian makes about halfway through is unlike anything else I've ever watched.  Genuinely felt like two different movies combined into one.

And the first movie was a lot better than the second one. Seriously, someone is a huge mutated strong freak because incest? So stupid. But it started out strong.

village of the damned?  children of the corn?

My theory is that the kids are part of some government program to brainwash people, to turn them into weapons against others and themselves. The kids are unwittingly expose to it in their classroom, by one of their classmates whose parents happen to work for the government. Their kid is the only one from the class who doesn't disappear. Eventually whatever happened to the kids will spread to their parents. I think it will look like something supernatural at first, likely as a cover, and as the investigation (spearheaded by Brolin and Garner) unfolds, the audience will be led to think it demons possessing the kids. The big twist about 3/4 of the way though will be that it's not demons but hypnotism or chemicals or something.

So it's MK-Ultra....

Some people on Reddit got a hold of the script months ago. From what they said and the summaries given it sounds stupid as fuck, and not many of them had high hopes. Granted this was early on and scripts can change a lot, and the medium of writing might not have the same impact as a visual one, but it’s worrying that every shot in the trailers could be found in that script.

Looking forward to this and the Franco Brie body horror.  Hoping it injects life into 2025 horror following Sinners.

This has long legs written all over it. Massive curated critic hype to be followed by audience letdown.

Well now it has the chance to be the best horror film ever made!

Stupidest person on the site. That’s his weapon.

Going Sunday.

Longlegs was cool.

This hype is different and I'm excited to check it soon.

Who would have thought the weirdo from Whitest Kids YKnow would be one of the directors carrying the horror torch in 2025

did you see it?

I enjoy movies and shows with Brolin as well as Garner. She's really talented and I've seen the preview several times now. It seems like a really interesting plot.
