The whole angle of how much Arkansas hates Texas and Texas just isn't ready for the hate is incredibly overrated.  There might be memories of a rivalry for the old timers, but it simply isn't a major

Fayettenam, by contrast, is well established historically and still appropriate.

I’m not sure there’s a better mascot to fan base correlation in all of sports than the feral pig is to Arkansas fans

They aren't shitty. Losers and underachievers? Yes. But they are good.

I know, they have talent and could do some damage if they get in a Regional.

Texas hitters just watching repeated pitches right down the middle.
Just zero plate presence today.
Shake this disaster off and come back fresh tomorrow

How many strike threes are we going to watch today?

Looks like alll of them

Schloss will definitely use this for a wakeup call.

There's no wake up call for walking and hitting guys and then throwing hanging meat.  Just flush it and move on

Swine flu

Shitty effort at the plate. If you can get strike outs looking on fastballs down the middle it’s pretty easy to pitch

Really not great

Sure.

But I want to see if we can chip away a bit today. Don't just give up when we still have some at bats.

Though sending Howard out there is a bit of white flag waiving.

As crazy as it sounds, this will be a really good opportunity for Howard. 3 pitch mix and a fastball that he consistently hits 95-96 with.

No telling what horrible diseases one might get in Arkansas.

I don't know of any coach that isn't going to say that this is what happens when you aren't ready to play.

Riojas doesn't cause the hitters to look lost too.

Damn look at Howard

Didn’t have Howard looking better than Riojas on my bingo card today

I am just going to chalk this up to a bad day for Ruger.

See how he does next Friday.

and yet he's doing a lot better than Ruger.

Probably their guy did that. Friday pitchers tend to be good.

Great to see. Well great to see him pitching well, we need every pitcher with Spencer gone.

Their Friday pitcher rarely gets out of the 4th inning.  They make their living outscoring you until the can get to their bullpen

This guy hasn't been dominating, Aggy roughed him up, only went four innings.

Pitched great games against Vandy and someone else. That's about it. Numbers don't suggest dominance.

It’s baseball.

Jayden Duplantier also crushed a few against several good Friday night arms the last month. Doesn’t mean he is a good player just like getting touched up in a start doesn’t make you a bad player.

Root is a top 5 arm in the country. 81 strikeouts in 55 innings or whatever it was tells the story more than his ERA.

It’s called he’s charged up to play the number 1 team in the country that’s 19-2 and oh yea is also Texas they’re most hated rival. He’s locked in and we look like we don’t give af.

We need to score some runs and get to their bullpen.  We don't need it fresh for the next 2.

Right.  Try to get something out of this game if not win.

We look like we're hung over from the plane ride.

Tangentially, dumb jock announcers have no idea what "the law of averages" means.

Texas is 19-2 and now they’re gonna lose the series and not be number 1 anymore? LSU has 7 losses and we would have to get swept to have 5? Make it make sense espn.

It's Fayettenam for a reason.

Anyway this is more like Cody Howard. Settle down man.

I’m ok getting beat by a good team.  Not ok getting bf’d on TV as a number 1 looking like Prairie View A&M

Well getting run ruled helps ESPN's case

If my math is correct unlike most times this game raised Riojas' ERA by 1.23 runs.  Was under 3.  Now over 4.

Literally yes

It’s one game. I guess basic common sense doesn’t exist. We won 2 of 3 from lsu and even if we get swept we still have less sec losses than lsu. So why would they leap frog us to number 1?

Chill. We'll get them tomorrow.

Rankings aren't necessarily tied to records.  They are what lever people want to rate you based on what you've done lately.  If we win 1 or the next two games are close they won't.  If we get boat raced 3 straight games it might happen.  Doesn't matter what we are ranked until the end of the season anyways.
