May 2May 2 YouTube’s algorithm is awesome. Brings me stuff it thinks l might like, then sucks me in for a hour. Recently it’s been hitting me with 20-30 yo music. Very disappointed I didn’t listen to this stuff when I was young. I never gave Kid Rock a chance. His first 5 years of hard rock kicks ass. Just one big dis track on the World.
May 3May 3 Father John Misty, I've heard of him but only recently gotten into his music after becoming obsessed with the 'She cleans up" song MJ Lenderman That's off the top of my head
May 4May 4 I'll bite. Didn't know anything about The Whispers until a couple weeks ago. This is a jam.

Just one big dis track on the World. User name is not checking out. Also, in the spirit of the thread, The Cars. Pick an album pretty much. The Cars, Candy-O, and Shake it Up! each is a total banger of an album. Obviously, I was aware of them in the 80s and heard several songs. But I never leaned into them. Also, because of the amount of radio play, I slept on Tom Petty's Wildflowers as a total album. And although I obviously heard many of the songs, I only bought the album in the last five years. May 10May 10 I seriously don't know how it happened, but I somehow missed Airbourne until recently. My nephew of all people made me aware of them. As a lifelong AC/DC stan I'm really flabbergasted how this came to pass.
May 10May 10 Been getting into the growing psychedelic Cumbia scene in Austin. A lot of very fun bands.

I heard all the singles in real time because terrestrial radio was still a thing. Only after I bought the CD (years later) did I appreciate the front-to-back high-level songwriting.

July 26Jul 26 Holy shit! A song off this album showed up on my Apple Music playlist. I guess because I downloaded his other band, Wand. (which I didn’t know was his band until I looked him up) Talented freaking guy. Wow. It’s like everything I want to hear in a record. Like a blend of everything imaginable. (To me like Jellyfish “Spilt Milk”) It’s got a bit of: Be Bop Deluxe, Todd Rundgren, Dinosaur Jr., Marshall Tucker/Allman (leads). F’ing great! The only song I almost skipped was “Persuasion Architecture,” because of the beginning, but it’s bad ass too. Cory Hanson Edited July 26Jul 26 by Rip76
August 6Aug 6 15 years old but I missed it until recently, kind of heavy but with some strong melodies.
