At some point Trooper Paul gonna talk physics again lol

ChatGPT best guess:

The state’s case:
"Drunk girlfriend runs over cop boyfriend while backing up at 2 mph. He flies 30 feet like a Marvel superhero, lands in the snow, somehow has no broken bones, and lies there for six hours while nobody at the house notices—even though one lady is literally watching out the window for him."

The defense’s case:
"Cop boyfriend probably gets into a drunken fight at a house party hosted by another cop. Gets punched or falls, gets mauled a bit by the family’s German Shepherd, everyone panics, dumps him in the snow, and they all call their buddy, Trooper ‘I’m looking for nudes on the suspect’s phone’ Proctor, to cover it up."

Prosecution’s “expert physics” guy:
Has no physics degree. Claims a man hit by a reversing SUV will "spin gracefully like an Olympic figure skater" and land gently enough to not break a single bone. When asked why this doesn’t match basic physics or reality:
"I dunno."

Defense’s physics guys:
"This is nonsense. Even a 7th grader can tell you that if you get hit by a giant SUV, you don't just get a boo-boo on your arm and a headache."

Key facts the state can't explain without sounding like cartoon villains:

Witnesses deleted phone logs right after the death.

The lead cop investigating (Proctor) was besties with the family hosting the party and sent texts calling Karen a “whackjob” while joking about searching her phone for nudes.

The homeowner (a cop) and his family somehow never noticed the dead body 10 feet from their window but a random neighbor saw a “black blob” in the yard.

McCabe, the state's star witness, Googled “hos long to die in cold” at 2:27 a.m., FOUR HOURS before they claim she found the body. Prosecutors say this was just a "browser tab quirk." (Because we all search "how long to die" before realizing someone’s missing, right?)

No forensic search of the house was ever done. Police treated the dead body like trash in the yard and never checked inside where the injuries probably happened.

What really happened:
Karen Read, like a lot of drunk girlfriends, left her drunk boyfriend at the door of a party and drove off, possibly bumping into his car. Inside, somebody clocked him, or he fell, or the dog got him. Rather than call 911 and wreck multiple police careers, they staged a "he got run over" scene with Proctor's help, blamed Karen, and hoped nobody would notice the facts don’t add up.

Final verdict:
Karen Read is innocent. She’s being railroaded because corrupt cops would rather frame her than admit they got drunk, stupid, and violent at a party.

If a juror can watch this case and still think Karen did it, they probably also believe Wile E. Coyote physics is real.

Closing arguments finished today. The jury should start deliberating anytime now if they haven’t already.

Edit - they haven’t yet.

She was found guilty of OUI (basically DWI). But that will likely just be a year parole.

Probation but yeah

I've had a lot of free time over the last few weeks and watched a lot of the trial.

The prosecution was just throwing up shit and hoping it would stick. Their medical examiner along with 3 defense experts all said the same thing: "his injuries were inconsistent with a vehicle hit"

They also had the nations leading dog bite doctor testify the wounds on his arm were consistent with dog bites.

Then throw on top all the shady shit that happened that night. People didn't come out of the house when there were multiple fire trucks and police cars in the front yard. Mutiple calls and texts between the people in the house they said on the stand were "butt dials". One guy in the house going up to the police station at 1:30 in the morning after a night of drinking to "move cars around". Same guy when asked to give his phone to FBI went to a military base and threw his phone away. John's clothes sat in a paper bag in the back seat of a car for a few months with no chain of custody. Data deleted from Karen's phone after it was in police custody including location data around the time of the potential hit. Prosecution witnesses changing their timelines after the trial started as they didn't match up.

There was no way I could have convicted her if I was on the jury.

When wife swapping with cops goes wrong.

I actually don't know anything about this case, but good for her.

It's not hard - if you heard anything that the prosecution said - you would think she was innocent.

Dumbasses in the house we're googling "How long does it take someone to freeze to death."

Cops try to find a convoluted way to cover for their own.

Its a story as old as time.

my favorite was the cop that said she saw Higgens and the chief in the sally port for an unusual amount of time.

then a meeting with the chief, and suddenly that was a “false memory”. This very specific memory she just fabricated (because they changed the logs to make her “gone” when he was there)

then she got up and testified it was a “false memory”. A cop that has a “false memory” can never be a reliable witness again lol she torpedoed her career to lie for the chief. What an idiot.

Jackson ripped her a new asshole (her words)

lol

Im gonna need to see Sally's port before I can make a decision.

Everyone was beyond drunk.  KRs vodka soda count was like 10 and she weighs nothing.; rest were as drunk. All cops plus fed Leo’s and spouses. Went to two bars then to house.  Higgins the atf agent had a fling with KR. John drunkenly went into house to check out after party as kr wouldn’t go in as lights were out. John goes into house doesn’t come out, kr gets pissed and leaves. His body in snow found next morning.  No wvidence he was hit by a car.

i think he went in the house. Confronted Higgins the atf guy over fucking Karen.  Fight. Accidentally injured. Tossed out in yard. Cover up ensues.

my best guess based on what has come out from the trial:

John went into the house, was attacked by the dog, slipped and hit his head, died, they threw him in the yard and made Karen a patsy.

So what you're saying is this was a plot by the Dog Mafia who put a hit out on this cop for his past misdeeds?

Fight the Pawa!

(Sorry, couldn't help myself)

The glove didn't fit so the jury chose to acquit.

If the taillight ain't split, you must acquit.

Yep

could’ve even been mutual combat who knows

the cops not searching the house is insane, they are all implicated in the cover up. The judge was also incredibly biased and working with the regarded prosecution.
the “physics expert” for the state didn’t take physics in college. He couldn’t define acceleration. He had zero evidence or way to show the car knocked John 30’ from the road, and still that was their theory.

I guess you are kind of stuck with that dumbass theory once you plant evidence (the tail light pieces) all over the body.

the phone also showed him moving and walking and locking his phone AFTER Read left. When they planted his phone back with him they locked it. That was like 1245, Karens phone connected to the wifi at home 20 mins away at 1250 or something.

so much shananiggins by the corrupt police

One of the only honest witnesses

We're matching a doc on MAX about this.  Pretty good.

Infuriating, though.  No way she did this.

Hopefully the family figures out the da led them down a bad path and they drop their civil suit.

Funny, my wife was pro-Read/anti-cop but after listening to her speak on the documentary, now thinks she probably did it (accidentally, and may not 100% know she did it because she was drunk). I agree there's way too much shady business by all the cops.

Wife's family lives near her house and we did a showing tour in August when Read put it on the market. So this all hits very close to (almost) home.

Was that the interview where she said she must have accidentally hit him?  Doing that interview probably was the stupidest thing she did.
