Justin Timberlake What GIF

Bryson hasn't been great either. He could be 5 or 6 under right now.

Feels like a great time for golf regardless of how you feel about any of these guys. Flirting with having 3 true superstars.

Bryson can’t truly be a superstar until he leaves LIV and is playing with these guys every week.

And till he can hit a 2 foot putt without going through a 5 minute routine to line it up.

Yeah well his wedge play is world-fucking-class and he just joined the leaders.

I heard a lot of criticism of Quail Hollow coming into the tournament. But I must say that I’ve really enjoyed it. It’s a big-boy golf course and has been a good test.

17 is one of the best holes in the world.

Agreed. Any course, unless it’s an asshole course, isn’t keeping the best in the world from averaging 3-4 under rounds over a 4-day tournament.

Obviously they can grow the rough and punish you, or put the pins in difficult places, but in general.  So far, for a pga, I’m okay with this course.

I don't love the 16-17-18 gimmick but it is what it is. I like when 17 and 18 are fairly normal, scoreable holes.

Similar to Sawgrass I guess.

Scottie putting Bryson down tomorrow would be pretty sweet. Here’s hoping.

#115

Well that wasn't good.

This course fuckin people up out here.

I mean seriously this is very US Openesque all of a sudden.

I can't believe you've done this to me Bryson.

Feels like Scottie's to lose tomorrow but he has to navigate 16-18.

Bryson hitting a 9-iron from the fairway bunker on 18 from 190 out and coming up 20 yards short is why I still can't take him seriously. He's obsessed with his own lore.

Watching the scheffler group feed, they seem almost bored with his ball-striking.  Just hole after hole of “well perfect again of course”

Imagine if Scotty was a smidge more consistent with the putter strike.

He’s 19th in the putting stat this year. He was 77th last year and 162nd in 2023. So our imagination has become a reality.

Wut?

Almost every golfer interviewed says those are the three hardest finishing holes in golf.

No gimmick involved.

Pure greatness is.

This feels over.

Caveat of course that it isn’t over yet, but I’ll refer you to my prior post where I said Scottie would take control of the tournament today.

Congrats. Did you win money on it?

If not then shut the fuck up.

I bet him live yesterday around the turn. If you want to see the receipt I can show you.

And I only engaged because you posted the Timberlake gif. Again, it could fall apart tomorrow, but I thought a needle was appropriate.

Because you're acting like he's Tiger Woods.

Rory had his driver pulled on him going into this one.

I don't know how good Scottie is. He may post double-digit majors - he may not.

If you have a slip then congrats. He's the best player in the world right now - I don't think anyone is doubting his ability to win the PGA Championship.

My post went out of its way to say he isn’t Tiger…

It really fucking didn't but it's whatever man.

Bryson blew it today - Scottie is going to get #3 and we'll go from there.

Sort of feels like some mid career Tiger major wins where he didn’t have his best stuff, hung around the first two days, took control of the tournament on Saturday while everyone tread water, then buried his playing opponent on Sunday. Obv a long way to go, and I’m not saying Scottie is Tiger, but I’ve seen this play out before.

Could have fooled me since you seem to think I think Scottie is Tiger Woods, even though I said he wasn’t.

Tiger is the best golfer of all time and it’s not close. The guy clowned people for 15 years before his body broke down, then managed to win like 20 more times plus another Masters after that.

This run by Scottie is STARTING to feel Tiger-like. But Scottie is in his late 20s, not his early 20s, and he’d have to do this over and over again for like five more years before we even get into the conversation of comparing careers with Tiger.
