Older baseball fans will talk about beaning people the next time up like when they played Little League in the 80s, but these kids don't give half a shit as much as the fans, they just want to talk shit when it's their turn. Those days of retribution outside of the playing field/court are fading fast.

Jonah’s attempts to get the crowd and his teammates fired up was not something I have a real problem with. Sure, I would’ve preferred to see a brushback pitch after - just because that’s enjoyable old school baseball to me. But good grief, he’s young - and I think the entire experience will turn out to be a good lesson. At least he had a good sense to do it at home. If he’d made his error at the wall the next game after Stare-O-Rama and it was in Gainesville, that would not have been as fun. For him. That would’ve been a crowd pleaser. All both programs need getting ready for the tourney is healthier pitching staffs. A team of average meatheads with two starting aces and a wicked closer is all you need to make a decent run. And don’t worry, y’all are gonna be regular season champions..Why? because the Aggies will hate that….And God hates Aggies.

The one that not so subtly got in Williams face but then also did the Horns HR celebration/acknowledgment to LF. Congrats to Mr. Notgonnawintheconference.

For baseball in particular, the players started to differentiate between what is meant to be a celebration versus something that is actually meant to disparage the opposing team.

So I guess not. Why on earth should he not have gotten in Williams’s face after that display? If one of our batters had acted like Jonah and your first baseman not had a word to say about it, I would have less respect for your guy. There’s nothing wrong being confident, nor is it a sin to be a little chippy in the heat of the contest. Jonah now knows to tone it down a bit that’s all. And it had to be the least important event in the whole three game series. Good luck this week.

And it had to be the least important event in the whole three game series. Good luck this week. His actions were in two different games. He could have subtly said something to the barely out of high school freshman. There was a tad “look at me” in his actions. But that’s fine. Had he ended it there. But the next day after his homer, he mocked the crowd and the Horns in rounding 2nd base. I’m not sure there was necessarily anything intense in the moment that he was responding to at the time. All this from a 3rd year player. On a team that trails by what 7 games.

Everyone hits better with people on base

May 13May 13 Havent seen this discussed on here but apparently the entire Texas team was sick before the series on Friday and Riojas and many others were running 100+ fevers all weekend. Apparently that played into Jonah's cramps too. And apparently we were so sick that we were getting the Florida player's sick too.
