Per Suchomel, Howard allowed ONE reception his entire career in high school and NONE this past football season. Suchomel wrote: "I spoke with Texas cornerback signee Hayward Howard tonight. We were talking about a variety of things, including his senior season. He told me Howard didn't give up a single catch all year. In fact, according to Howard himself, he gave up only one completion in his entire high school career. That play happened in his junior season.

I asked Howard how pissed he was when he gave up that completion. "I cried," he said."
