We’re actually past the first leg of each semi for the playoff.

Bristol City-Sheffield United are one of the semis and Sheffield has a massive lead up 3-0 about to head home. They played yesterday

Sunderland scored late to take this one 1-2. They head home with that lead.

The next legs are Monday & Tuesday.

Coventry had a terrible back pass that directly lead to Sunderland's second goal.

Sheffield United finishing up on taking their tie. About 15' to play and they are up 5-0 aggregate.

Second leg of Sunderland/Coventry is today at 2 pm. Gotta root for Sunderland. After watching Sunderland Til I Die, those people deserve a chance to move back up.

And this is epic.

Coventry City on my mind. It should be on yours too.

Rooting for Sunderland. Been a fan since they had Altidore and Gooch.

Sunderland has been content to let Coventry have the ball, they were going to need to hold the defense to make 2-1 stand. Now the question is can they turn on the offense and get the lead back.

Sunderland does have their counter set - if they can get it right, they might get a goal.

If Coventry doesn't win this one, Haji is going to remember that miss for a long time.

Sunderland blows their big chance in the first OT. 97'

Coventry has dominated the first half up to that 1 chance on a counter by Sunderland. But Sunderland all of a sudden flipped the field and are putting the pressure on. 105'

coventry look content to settle for kicks

Sunderland have had them under siege the last 5-10' or so.

They haven't been able to get possession and really make a good attack much this period.

Leyton Orient scores in the third minute.

come on Charlie!

Quote

Just a few days before scoring two of the biggest goals in Leyton Orient's 143-year history, Charlie Kelman is reflecting on his love for Dallas, Texas. The accents, the heat, the food, the inescapable shadow of AT&T Stadium - all are so far away from where he is now, but in many ways, all have played a part in getting him there. The Texas accent was lost years ago, but it's still a part of his past and, maybe if he keeps walking the road he's walking on, his future.

No American striker has been as prolific as Kelman this season. His 21-goal campaign earned him the League One Golden Boot and lifted Leyton Orient, a club that has spent all but one of those 143 seasons in England's lower leagues, into the promotion playoff.

***

"Obviously, I want to play in a World Cup for America," he begins, listing off his goals one by one as if the checklist was sitting in front of him. "I want to play at the AT&T Stadium. That would be special because I've been there on countless school trips. I just want to score as many goals as possible. I want to play at the highest level I can. I want to play for FC Dallas or get to the Premier League and play for West Ham. I know Leyton Orient fans won't like hearing all of that, but these are all my next steps, but obviously I have to take it a step at a time and prove that I can do it."

was following on bbc.com

kelman did not take a kick

orient to wembley

maybe poch will bring him to camp but he doesn't have much time to impress

have the hammers expressed any interest?

Ok so was surprised to see the home/home format for L1 but since the final is at wembley I assume that’s a single match?

Yes. For all levels.

And I love the home and home format. It gives us great endings like this week. Or this one from 2013. For those that don’t know it was 2-2 on aggregate when this video starts, well into stoppage time

Michael Oliver, fucking up easy decisions since 2013.

Charlton-Wycombe playing today for the 2nd spot at Wembley. 0-0 both in the game and aggregate at the start of the 2nd half.

Charlton scored the only goal in the 81’. Wycombe lost 4 of the last 5. Woof.

Since 4/21 they lost to charlton and leyton who are in the finals now, then Stockport who leyton just knocked out, then the semis to Charlton again. Oof. Wanderers indeed.

Not an EPL guy -- mostly Bundesliga -- but already suffering from table withdrawal symptoms, so I'll probably watch this instead of going out to help my wife clean up yard crap after the normal Wisconsin winter and prolonged cold-mud season.

She's already got me on the relegation list anyway.

Sounds suspiciously like Sudetenland, just sayin'

They’re gonna go in on that goal oh my goodness

Blades are going to want to fall on them
