Spaun deserved it. Didn’t quit. Didn’t lose his cool. Also liked McIntyre.

A buddy of mine works there. He said a ton of players are going to be at Oakmont tomorrow.  He also said one of the foursomes playing in the event tomorrow is worth a combined $1,500,000,000. We

How to play your approach shot on No 1

15 of the current top 20 have played 6 or less holes in the second round

Surely Thirston Lawrence has a back 9 meltdown in him.

BDC from the rough, grass so high you can't see his ankles or feet, swings so hard he gets off balance and about falls on his ass, knocks it 5ft from the hole. lol

Weird tournament. Cut is projected at +7 but we've got a guy 5 under.

I could have sworn Rory and Bryson played for the Masters like 2 months ago.

Or front 9 meltdown.

and Scottie did Scottie things...but not at Oakmont....yet!

Rory throwing clubs. Full meltdown engaged.

He really should take some time off.

There were two 69s in the field today, three 68s and two 67s and Burns shot a fucking 65. Everyone else was even or over par.

Rory birdied the last. Made the cut. Insane to say....but he isn't out of this.

Does anyone else have an insane urge to see the name "S.W. Kim" and say "SouthWest Kim"?

I found something to root for, feel free to join in - Phil is currently -1 today thru 4, +3 for the tournament. I'm rooting for him to blow up sometime this afternoon and miss the cut, however if he does manage to play the weekend, the I get 2 more days to see him struggle.
I used to be a Phil phan, but that was years ago, today he is easy to hate....not quite as much a Fatrick but in the neighborhood,

Was sitting on the cut line heading to the 17th hole, and just laid down a smooth double bogey. He's likely fucked.

Yep, if conditions are favorite in the morning, and any of the sunrise tee times can post a Sam Burns' round, there's a very good chance that the top of the field comes back to them in the afternoon.

Yeah I have no idea what to expect. Burns is a good player but not sure I trust him with the lead over the weekend at the US Open.

I still kinda like Spaun and there are certainly some bigger names lurking.

I think of this

Rory needs to take a month off. He’s not playing well and his demeanor is terrible.

Rory has absolutely nothing this week.

I just shot my worst round of the last 3 years. So watching this eases the sting

I feel like I'm not really rooting for someone, as much as I'm watching and seeing who falls back down the leaderboard, those who have successfully so far today were so far back that they have to shoot under par  tomorrow to get anywhere near the lead. Par could win this, it's like watching a slow car wreck

Exactly how I explained it to my wife. Disaster porn. Also had to explain why the US Open isn't played on Pinehurst #2 every year. She's a tennis fan but is coming around.

If there’s one thing I want to see during coverage of us open weekend play, it’s a player at the bottom of the leaderboard sifting through a hedge looking for his golf ball. More of that please.

Did they show someone other than Hovland in the bushes and I not see it?

Yeah no it was him, but when I posted I thought it was Rory.  I think my point still has some merit though about showing that instead of more golf shots.

I think the guy in 3rd, 2 off the lead, hunting for his ball on the first hole is relevant coverage. I’d rather see that than some guy no one’s ever heard of tap in some meaningless, context free birdie on the back 9.

I’m not necessarily rooting against Burns or Spaun, I just want to see drama.

Yeah "Even Par" 4 Rd score looks like a great chance to win this "trudge fest"

Think I'm pulling for Spaun. Seems like a cool enough guy. Great shirt game.

You and I have very different views on what constitutes a good shirt.

I agree with Ztejas. I've got a Puma like that with the contrasting red and I love it.

The earth tones that Nike puts their guys in look like shit, imho. But Im also an old with silver hair so that look washes me out.

I feel like I should be trying to find the hidden image in his shirt.

Scottiie clueless from 5 feet today.  Should be +1.  Big missed opportunity

That’s a big break being able to get free relief there.

I followed JJ for a few holes, at the Houston Open this year. Nobody else following that group, he had lost TPC in a playoff a few weeks before, and didn't have fame factor.

scheffler probably should be at +2, couldn't make anything.  I think he has a shot if the lead ends up at -1

if he can get E tomorrow, early on it will create a huge buzz

very boring day

I thought at least one of scheffler, Rahm, Xander, Morikawa, Rory, Jordan, Koepka would do something, anything to add some intrigue.

Adam Scott is going to go 70-70-70-70 and win this shit.
