November 12Nov 12 Author louisville missed 7 ft in a row in the final minute and uk turned it into 0 points lol. the illinois eastern bloc is up 74-67 on ttu with 3 and change left in champaign. Edited November 12Nov 12 by Derka
November 12Nov 12 Good game by the Illini. Stoyakovic played his ass off. Senior G, Boswell tore Tech up. Toppin was the best player on the floor. The announcers kept talking about the foul differential. The worst call I disagreed with was Boswell getting bailed out on a 3PTA with a horizontal leap into the defender that James Hardin would have been proud of. Illinois earned it. Straight up. Good game and lots of coaching opportunities. The most positive thing that can come out of this is Christian Anderson coming down to earth with a less than stellar game. Respond to the coaching and go.
November 12Nov 12 Yeah, I only caught the second half but Toppin was ballin. Looks like another solid squad. I actually watched the game on regular old youtube. I think its hilarious that this spat is ongoing between Disney and YTTV and pretty much most college games are easy to find. Not the case with NFL and NBA, but the college games always seem to get posted. Edited November 12Nov 12 by Blotto
November 12Nov 12 UK-Louisville wasn't the only good game last night #6 Michigan got taken to OT by Wake #10 Florida barely squeaked by FSU #11 Tech and #14 Illinois was really good

We also don't have the full team yet so I wasn't expecting a win but glad we fought well on the road Last season early on we were not very good at all so that's encouraging Edited November 12Nov 12 by Brian Fantana
November 13Nov 13 UNT loses a game by trying to call a TO they don't have, Oregon State makes and sinks 2 FTs to win
November 14Nov 14 I’ll say it. BYU isn’t being intellectually honest about it’s cult like culture with the Black athletes they are recruiting because they want a NC so bad in something. Be warned Goosby
November 14Nov 14 Last night's Backyard Brawl is yet another example of why I don't take the coaching search complaints by my team's fanbase seriously. The posters that were ranting the most about Hodge have no damn clue about literally anything outside the P4 and Big East.

Be warned Goosby (1) WTH are you talking about? Kevin Young pitches BYU as a place for guys that want to focus on hoop with fewer distractions and aren't looking for a party scene. If you want to hoop and party then BYU is not a good fit. Duh. Is that a big secret? AJ seems very happy here, btw. Should BYU not recruit black athletes? That seems racist. And you'd condemn BYU for that. BYU recruits black athletes and there is something sinister going on? Maybe you're just a hater? BYU is happy to welcome more diversity. We are an international school and a global church. More members of the church outside the US than inside now, meaning the diversity of the church continues to grow. (2) What does this alleged DUI have to do with whatever point you are trying to make? DUI would be a major issue at all schools.

Be warned Goosby What an odd comment, at least based on this story anyway. Are black students incapable of avoiding drinking and driving? With the possible exception of Georgia, I'm pretty sure most schools don't encourage drinking and driving, and yet we've seen athletes (black and white) get DUI's at Texas and pretty much every other major college athletics program. Now, I've long been on record as saying BYU will never be able to consistently recruit enough high level athletes to regularly compete in the sports that matter, because a lot of young men like to party and fuck. But they are pretty up front about their standards and its not like they swept the Brandon Davies situation under the rug. You would have to be a fucking moron to not understand what you are walking into when attending BYU. I've never set foot on that campus, and I am aware of the scene.

If people think it's just, 'Pay the guys and it's plug & play' have not paid attention. Lots of work to be done, and that's a positive. That's when the coach & staff earn their checks.
November 15Nov 15 Headed to Mich/TCU, I’ll be sure to live-stream halftime specifically for @Derka. Spoiler
November 15Nov 15 Bruins v Wildcats on Peacock. The best rivalry from the old P12 days. Just interviewed Kareem. Getting up there, but still so bright and insightful.
November 15Nov 15 Author wow, zona takes the lead out of nowhere, after a long period of offensive futility for both teams.
November 15Nov 15 Author mick cronin was the very first name i dropped when i wanted shaka replaced like 8-9 years ago. it would have been badass to have fired shaka 1-2 years earlier and hired cronin. he doesn’t hang out in the dorms, or text his players feel good quotes every morning, but he did take ucla to a final four plus two S16’s in his first three years* at ucla, if you’re into that sort of thing. *not counting covid year
November 16Nov 16 BYU/UConn going down to the wire on Fox, Huskies once led by 20 but the Cougars have made a furious comeback.
November 17Nov 17 Quote Kansas guard Darryn Peterson will be unavailable for the "immediate future," according to Bill Self. The star freshman missed his second-straight game on Saturday afternoon due to a tight right hamstring that has been bothering Peterson for weeks. "We're not obviously going to have him, at least, for the immediate future, I just don't know how long that'll be," Self said. KU plays Duke this week

November 19Nov 19 How long does Pope have at UK? I guess they were better last year than I remembered. I'm sure he's fine for now. Edited November 19Nov 19 by ztejas
November 19Nov 19 He’s the AD’s boy so he’ll get plenty of time unless it’s just a complete shit show and becomes an embarrassment to UK, ala, Billy Clyde. The injuries to the backcourt(things happen) last season derailed a promising season. Apparently there may be some internal strife / chemistry issues per SM and that’ll need to be remedied quickly.

Tommy Lloyd's teams have done this before though, it's getting over the hump in March that has been the challenge for him.
