I had zero issue with Leo starting, he played well.   Starting Merino alongside Rice and Zubimendi was the issue.

Agree. Zero goals created against Pool, Athletic Club, and now City, and bailed out by the subs in the last two. This should be the last time we ever see a Rice-Zubi-Merino midfield.

really informative breakdown of the tactics:

what really bothers me- and i haven’t gotten this upset about one play in a long time- is that for as negatively as we lined up in the 1h, the only reason city even came close to scoring was because our entire team made the conscious decision to leave erling haaland unmarked for ~60 yards as he bombed down the pitch towards our goal. literally, just fucking pick him up at any point during that 10 second span and city gets *nothing* on the day. i’m still in total disbelief that we let that happen. we just dominated a pep coached team like no one ever has before possession wise, and yet we all leave the match with a bad taste in our mouths. so aggravating.

Madueke is injured, but it sounds like it isnt a season-ending ACL injury.    This "source" for the ACL rumor was that fraud/click chaser Con Harrison.

oh yeah, shouts out to yesterday’s referee, he was great. PV players kept throwing themselves to the ground whenever they got touched, and he never rewarded them for it. epl refs give those fouls 9/10 times.

I’m so happy to see Jakub Kiwior thriving at Porto. Yet another POTM performance yesterday 👏His huge sell on clause will work out beautifully for Arsenal Football Club ⚪️🔴

that’s a red.

gyorkores dribbles around pipe and has a wide open net and gets fouled, what are we talking about here?!?!?!?!

they said pope “won the ball”. yeah fucking right. gyorkores dribbled the ball which then glanced off of pope’s foot, pope didn’t even attempt to win the ball. absolute horse shit.

#590

That’s the best we’ve seen of Gyokeres, really unfortunate to be trailing.   2 worldie saves, ball off the post and an uncalled penalty on Pope is the difference

SJP Is just a house of horrors for Arsenal, at least we are getting this fixture out of the way early.
